Help on Improving Performance.

Hi guys, I have a decent computer quad core, with 4 GB of ram and a 8800 gt 512 vid card.

However... I realize that I lag when the battles get huge...

I am planning on upgrading my card.  I am not familiar with computers... but will upgrading my card enable me to play the game lag free (huge battles) along with high settings?

Its getting irritating when my computer fps just drops during battle.
