hello im new here, and you can tell im a girl and my name is susan ,and check out my profile on myspace. /// Well to get to the point and was wondering which is best crossbow, throwing axes , bow ,or javelin please help me.

Depends.

Throwing weapons do quite a bit of damage, but you only get around 7 of them per slot. They do get a bonus against shields though.
Crossbows do huge damage, but take a while to reload and cannot be reloaded while on horseback or moving.
Bows do less damage, but you get more ammo than throwing weapons and they are quicker to reload than crossbows. You can also use them from horseback.
Personally, I prefer throwing axes. No particular reason, other than they look quite funny when stuck into various body parts...

Well, as Archonsod wrote, each of these weapons have drawbacks, you cant really say 'overall best'. :)

I guess you have to try it out for yourself, really.
I stick to being a horsebowman, with the occasional dagger throw, just for the sake of giving my character a rogue feel. ;)

Give me a Heavy Great Axe anyday. Nothing quite like running by a Dark Knight on my Champion Courser at full gallop and smacking him one on the kisser.

And I quote:
"Delivered 184 damage
Delivered 74 damage to horse
Dark knight killed by Major Payne"

You can start off with the Bows and use it as your main missile weapon. It is second easiest missile weapon to use for new characters after the crossbow. In terms of versatility the Bow would be better than the crossbow in terms of rate of fire.

Once you are well-accomplished with Bow proficiency you might want to look at Thrown Weapons like Javelins and Throwing Axes. Not only are they a lot of fun, they also deal out lots of damage.

When you reach the higher levels, most of your favourite weapon skills would by then be very high, so you will have more incentive to practice with other weapons.

LOL, I don't know you but I already despise you.

Anyway, I would say that although certain weapons deal more damage than others, and may be faster than others, the "best" weapon is the one that you feel most comfortable with, or the one that you find challenging. Try them all and see which one YOU like.
