Help me, anyone, I *logs off*

My Mum & Dad are divorced and he now lives in the UK.

I do tell him about the problems he's causing with all these things, he replies "Oh really" and when I ask him if he could make Norton allow these sites, he looks through the Norton manual and starts talking around the subject or says it's probably some sort of virus and you know what happens next.

That's right, more Anti-Virus programs. He pretends to know about all of these things, when in reality, I know more about PC's than he does.

*Sigh*

Thats what i though, anyway, my dad was like this too, but i won the conflict, and i uninstalled the anti-virus

Well thats quite stupid. Indeed F'ck-secure is worse than all viruses combined but you should always always always have some anti-vir and firewall

yes i haVE firewall or anti-virus, but not ALOT, because some anti-virus can actually be disguise as viruses or trojan

Use only Official anti-virus, like, you can buy it on C-D, don't Download any like "jims anti-virus" they don't sound safe

My stepdad has really taken the biscuit this time, he changed my administrator rights (On the pc for Windows XP) To limited user.

Now I can't install anything. What makes this worse is he changed me to an admin when I asked him to, and (probably out of spite for who knows what) he changed me back to limited afterwards.

Wow, that does suck. But did you try putting in common passwords like I said? Or you could try a password cracker if he won't be using the computer for a while. And another thing to try is logging in to the 'Administrator' account. When you create another user account, it is just hidden, not deleted. If you remember the password to it, press f8 to boot into safe mode, which shows the Administrator account and use it to raise your privileges back to admin. I love breaking people's concepts of security  .

Aye, I wish I could, but trust me, they would find out (they always do) and he can still change me back to limited

Yeah, as usual.

My stepdad says he has got a better graphics card at work, and is going to take out our current one and replace it with the "better" one, now I'm not liking this one bit, because he knows nothing about graphics cards.

I've got a GeForceFX 5200 128MB, so, yes, I can do with an upgrade, but if the one he's bringing home today is worse, I'm putting my foot down!

if you do an upgrade to your card (not buying a new one), you'd have a high risk of burning your card (not physically)

oh it depends, maybe the card is not suitable/can be put. It depends how old is your computer compare to his

I don't think you're getting me here

1.It's his computer and it isn't old
2.He's going to take the old card out, put the NEW one in
