Help a noob understand. What does the "code refactor" business mean?

Imagine after 8 years You notice that Your code is quite a mess - oops never noticed that until now. Then You start again, hopefully with a better approach.
And thanks for the Wikipedia link. I was wondering about the exact meaning of "refactoring", as this wording never crossed my path.

They've grown a lot since they started the game and I imagine the scale and scope of the game has changed. Same thing happened with DayZ, Star Citizen, and many other games that use custom engines. Particularly games with online and simulation components.

Yeah it's a painful process for the fans, but imagine if Taleworlds didn't start on a new engine until now and M&B2 was the equivalent of Bethesda releasing another game on the Creation Engine. It's a long, difficult journey but let's appreciate the fact that they started it so long ago. There's a reason Bethesda doesn't start work on a new engine, they know they can churn out games on their old engine and people will buy them rather than going idle for 5+ years.

Somewhere I saw that there was a move from C++ to C Sharp in the development process. This is just my suspicion so take it with caution!
As for the short summary of the difference - a C++ coder does

Since the modding API was first announced, they said it was in C#. It would be utter lunacy to switch an entire project from C++ to C#, not least because C# is about 100% slower.

(...) Bethesda releasing another game on the Creation Engine.

You give Bethesda developers too much credit.
There is nothing wrong with the Creation Engine itself.
Bethesda's developers are just largely incompetent, and Zenimax Media are horrible taskmasters.

Does anyone know of any good pest controllers in Turkey?, with the amount of bugs that TW keep finding we may need to call them in soon!

It means the developers are now using the bank they just made from the over 1 miliion sales and are partying all day long, but they are trying to make us think they are still working

well.. .in the TW . it's meaning "already successfully sell the game so. we have to go $$summer vacation$$ . "
ps . don't worry we have TW Defence force.
think why they didn't sort code last 8 years.
Yeah they better not give any of these 10 hour workers a vacation, they definetly dont deserve it and we must dehumanize them!!!!!!1!1!!1

Honestly if they all took a fat vacation after early access release I wouldn’t be too upset. The fact that they’re doing anything at all is impressive. A lot of people had no idea what was going to happen when Covid first started spreading. What use is a million dollars if you’re too dead to spend it?

I seriously think people need to stop being so skeptical over this game. This is an 8 year long passion project, with a modestly sized studio who based their entire identity around this single game franchise. If they ever do **** off during production, it'll be after the game launches 1.0.
