Oh as DasKinkyWalrus said, download CFF explorer, click file, open, then navigate to your Warband folder. Select mb_Warband and click open. Few lines down you should see "File Header". Click on it and under characteristics click "Click Here" and enable App can handle >2gb Adress space.

Here is the picture if it sounds too complicated:

I thought it was a common knowledge to use CFF explorer for games

Hm. I too have been having this problem. I can usually last about 3-4 battles, but then I crash. I tried doing what Takeda just said, only to find that the 2gb adress box he mentioned had already been checked. In fact, everything had already been checked. Pixel shaders, single threading, textures on demand, everything. I vaguely remember this happening on native, though not nearly as frequent, so I think its more of a problem with my 9 year old machine than it is with L'Aigle. Luckily, my new pc gets here tomorrow, so It wont be such a bug problem for me

Yeah, the problem must be in the machine you are using. Warband may be an old game, but all these extra models, textures, shaders and whatnot can really stress a computer, especially if it's an old one.

I don't know what to tell you, i have a low end computer and it works flawlessly. What are your specs ? Maybe a problem lies there :/

The CFF trick only works if your pc has >4GB ram. May I ask if your computer happens to be a potato?

I'm starting to think it is.

It's a Windows 7 with 4 GB memory.

What version of Windows 7? If it's the Starter version, that would be your problem.

Yeah, he said it was 32 bit

32 bit systems don't recognize the fact that you have 4GB of ram, they can only really see the first 2GB, maybe 3GB if you're lucky

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3_GB_barrier

So it's definitely a memory issue. The mod needs about 2.5GB, which is more than the 2GB 32bit Windows will allow a program to use. You can change this however.

Opening a command prompt (which you can do by searching for CMD on the start menu) and entering "bcdedit.exe /set increaseuserVA 3072" will allow programs to use up to 3GB of RAM, which is enough for L'Aigle. If that slows your system down too much, 2700-2800 or so instead of 3072 might work.

This is a normal feature of Windows and should be safe to use, but in the off-chance it causes computer problems I accept no responsibility whatsoever. No guarantee the fix will work, either.

It didn't work. What might be relevant is that I run steam on E: and not C:. This hasn't given me any notable problems on any other game, but as CMD has C:/ in front of the code, I thought I should mention it.
