Resolved Helmet blocking view

So this doesn't happen right away, but after a few combats my helmet becomes visible in first person view. depending on the helmet this can block anything from "just the top third of my screen" to everything but two small eye holes. My eyebrows also are showing, blocking my view. I will try to take a screenshot to show how much of a problem it is. Trying to fire a bow when your helmet blocks seeing what the crosshair is on is a nightmare. Makes the game unplayable with a helmet on.
Edit, more info, it seems to be a problem 100% of the time when in first person mode, and not a problem in 3rd person, but the game seems to randomly change from 1st to 3rd, and I have no idea how to get it to change back, -, +, and ~ have no effect.
