Well, I certainly can understand the lyrics now, but they took away the material from the song. The Rock, the Metal.
It has neither, and so is just a soft song with ludicrous lyrics to it for it's softness.

This cover is the reason I stopped listening to radio horse-**** while driving. Pantera should be the last bastion of serious metal. It's the last ****ing sacred institution in the genre. You don't make humorous or nifty Pantera covers, that's just wrong. And this is coming from someone who isn't that ardent a fan.

But it is not limited to that. I think recreations of the originals are boring and unnecessary, if you want something that sounds exactly like the original, why not just listen to the original?

I used to be some judgmental music elitist who figured his own taste was the only good taste. But now I find that it's more logical (and indeed a lot more pleasant) to just accept that everyone has different tastes. Personally, I liked these covers. It's not better or worse than the originals - just different. Of course, many lyrics don't seem to work with the style of the song, but I still think it's interesting to see how much different a song can be when you just change the music and instrumentation.

Maybe if you were a little less sensitive for these dumbasses and just think of it as: I don't like this stuff, they made a lame version of Run to the Hills, then again they're retarded but it's not a reason to not take music seriously.
