hello everyone, GamerGod is looking for writers and modders

Users who are viewing this thread

Greetings, my name is Jason K. Dove, and I'm with GamerGod.com.

I contacted Armagan many months ago as I had fallen head over heels for this game from my first combat encounter. Our site was exclusively for MMO's at the time, though I was allowed to go ahead and write it up anyway. Long story short, my review for Mount and Blade will be going up on the site by Monday, I'm very much looking forward to getting the word out there. This is truly a fantastic endeavor supported by a great community. This led me to asking Pavlov for permission to write here to the community. So here goes...

First and foremost, we are looking for mod coders who are looking for a community. Our goal is to build a mod fansite much like you see for many popular mmo's. While we realize that many modders tend to use thier own sites or the game sites they are writing for, we believe our viewer base will be something you can't afford to pass up. If getting your name out there and being noticed for your work by tens of thousands of gamers is something you think you want to be a part of, please, drop me an email.

We are primarily a video game and gaming industry publication, however, our aim is to raise the bar on how readers and the industry views publications such as ours. We are looking for writers to dig deep into the industry and see what makes it tick.

We are now actively seeking volunteer Editors who are willing to volunteer a few hours a week to hone their skills, meeting writers and industry enthusiasts from around the globe. The challenges are ever present, the working environment relaxed and casual, the opportunity tremendous.

Writers who are seeking an amazing venue for your passion: we are highly interested in speaking to you in regard to research and investigative journalism and of course, gaming reviews. We do realize that gaming may not be your forte`, however, we urge you to take a look at a few of our more in-depth articles which are becoming a major draw for our site. This is a great opportunity for putting your work in front of thousands of readers each day.

We are looking for writers to cover Xbox, Playstation, Nintendos, Any Handhelds, All PC Games, and Yes...MMORPG's, if it is a video game, we'll cover it.

If this post is inappropriate on these forums, please report it to the moderators for a prompt removal.

Thank you for your time and we look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Jason K. Dove
Producer / Writer

Im not sure i quite understand what that was supposed to mean...im not sure he is stupid enough to think this is a MMO though lol.

Are you asking for modders for other games?

He's asking for writers to review games, and such. GamerGod.com, was mostly a MMO-reviewing site, but now he wants help to write reviews, and for people to delve into the industry of gaming.. sounds itneresting. I'm up for fun if I don't have to leave my house.

Yes  I've been playing mmo's for months  I'll have another read of my and adjust the language.

We are looking for modders and writers who want to play and write, get thier name out there, get involved and build a community of gamers unrivaled in the field. Our goal is to become a media empire. We are already taking in about 1.5 million hits a month, we'd like to quadruple that, meeting lots of good people along the way.

drop me an email if you are interest or add me to your messenger contacts, I'll make sure all mine are listed.

thanks everyone

Would becoming a reviewer put me in a position to tell corporations to stop making 'MMO' synonymous with 'crappy'?

Really, I don't know any other genre that has so much potential yet is botched with horrendous gameplay and lack of purpose again and again and again and africkengain.

Why aren't you listed on the site's Staff list?

Anyhoo, reviewing sounds like something I could do as I like writing and, obviously, gaming, but I don't have the time to devote to it, alas.

I'm not on the staff listing from the portal as it is outdated, for several reasons. The primary reason is that our current site is about to be blasted from orbit. Near the middle of October, we are launching a brand new site which is absolutely incredible.

You can find me listed on the forums or check out my latest articles:

Does being part of GamerGod include getting pre-release versions of games?

Edit: meant pre-release versions of course, not demo's.

This question comes up often and it is a great question. The main benefits other than having tens of thousands of readers read your work and getting your name out there, is getting into beta programs, receiving games at no cost, getting to the chance meet developers, take part in development discussions, having a press pass for conferences and conventions, and yeah, did I mention games?

First and foremost, we are looking for mod coders who are looking for a community. Our goal is to build a mod fansite much like you see for many popular mmo's. Why would we want to mod on a different forum? This is the official M&B forum, where everybody looking for M&B related information goes.

If you mean mod other games, that's fair enough but then this post is a commercial advertisement.

Sounds a bit fishy to me.

Sheek...why would you want to mod on a different forum.. that is a good question.

"First and foremost, we are looking for mod coders who are looking for a community."

While it is the common misconception that modders are pimply faced basement dwelling social retards, we at GamerGod don't believe that. We believe that programmers, coders, modders who are all game enthusiasts, albeit from working on different games would benefit greatly from a collective pool of resources, learning from each other and enjoying a bit of healthy competition to promote comradarie.

Why would you want to list your mods on another site away from M&B? That is the easiest answer of them all. It's called ADVERTISING. If you enjoy M&B as much as the rest of us, why not get the name out there in a big way. Why not advertise yourself and your work? As it stands, most people don't really give a rats ass about this mod or that mod, they just want to play the game and now and then hit up a site looking for a piece of information. Research shows that when information is bundled and packaged for them in such a way that shows it is indispensable, they are more inclined to utilize it. Enter the Mod Site : Players can now be exposed to the world of modding in big way, then exposed to a world which encourages them to expand thier playing horizons, either specifically for a particular modding option that is appealing or picking up on what thier friends or guild mates are doing as well.

Simply put, if we put modders together in a single place, it will expose the games they play and mod as well as expose themselves and thier work to tens of thousands of new gamers each week. It boils down to a win / win situation.

Hope that rubs a little lemon on your fish.

So you just want to host M&B mods on a mirror site? If that's the case that's fine. Thanks for the offer.

However I think it'll be at least a couple of weeks before there are any mods for the .70 version of this game.

Sheek, I'm not quite certain how else to explain what we're trying to do. This is far more than just hosting up your files. This is about building a community for modders to come together and work together in all aspects of your craft.

A place to meet your peers, to learn and teach, to gain exposure and recognition, to inspire and to develop.
