Anyone ever felt like playing with ancient superweapons? Behold the Helepolis of Rhodes:

The Helepolis was a Macedonian Siege Tower used in the unsuccessful siege of Rhodes, and was subsequently used to help build the Colossus. It could not steer but it could move laterally, providing a mobile firing platform to bombard the enemy with ballistae and catapults. It required 200 or so men to move its chain-belt machine.

I want this in Mount and Blade NOW!

I really don't think that would work with the AI. Hell, I wouldn't really want it, even if it can.

It'd be nice to be able to shoot at the archers on the walls from above them though.

I wouldn't mind being able to put archer in my siege tower to fire on the enemy but I sure as hell don't want that super weapon in native.

I wouldn't mind seeing it in MaB. However, the way MaB is set in time and the simplified elements of MaB would make it difficult for the devs to put this to use.

One thing that bothered me since playing MaB is the fact that no one is pulling or pushing this sieging tower/ladder.  Maybe it's run on solar power like that rover on Mars

agreed
while we are one topic, I would suggest that "people" have to move the ladders and there should be multiple ladders at different walls to climb. Making defense a little harder. You should be able to choose what you want to build depending on the time you want to siege and the men you have. And siege towers should be a little more "tower...y"

Siege towers don't start to move until your men are beside it.

Yes BESIDE them??? they should push or pull it. not just walk beside it like they're crossing the road with it

On top peoples? A miniaturized Helepolis perhaps would be manageable, or a fantasy mod could replace the men powering the engine, with Hero's steam engine...

Maybe then can just add to the siege tower they have now.

In a patch, this idea could be implemented.  Yes, Bob not a bad idea.
Although, I'd like to see more siege elements than just this towering idea.

Yeah, I think just adding a platform to the siege tower and putting walls up around it. Still, that might look a little weird...
