I don't know when you switched/changed their attributes.
But S. Heavy Axeman used to have 160 in 1 handed instead of 130 and A. Veteran Infantry used to have 120.
But now Axemen have 130 and Infantry 160.
And I know I'm not forgetting things, because I distinctively remember comparing Sea Raider Chief 160 with the Heavy Axeman, and how for a T4 troop they had big stats

Why play vanilla at this point. The devs do not care at all about troop balance, let alone anything else.
Someone has to do,if we don't complain they won't change anything.
And I will make posts like this.

BTW,do you have some good mod that allows me to modify the current troops equipment and skills?

If all you want to do is rebalance troops, it’s easier to just edit the xmls yourself than to find a mod and get it to work. That’s what I did so that my game has Sturgian noble infantry. I saw lots of mods that were supposed to do it by I couldn’t get them to work (maybe updates broke them).

Teach me,friend!

If you want to change just stats it's easy to do with a text editor:
Go to --->\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules\SandBoxCore\ModuleData ---> open "spnpccharacters.xml"( i like Notepad++) and search(ctrl+f) for the units you want to edit.

If you would like to change equipment as well i recomend you use My little warband to create the troop trees and ATC to add them in the game in a mod of your own(no need to worry about updates later).

As was said above, you have to find that file and open it in a text editor. Changing the skill levels is very straightforward. Every unit has an entry that contains a section with skill lists. It also contains an equipment list, but that is a bit more difficult to edit since equipment pieces aren’t referred to by their in game names. However, if you know what troop has the equipment you want, you can copy paste the relevant lines from one troop entry to another.

You can check if you did it right by opening the game at looking at the in game encyclopedia, which should reflect your changes if you did it right.

For some reason they went out of their way and nerfed the axemen in 1.8 if i remember correctly, they gave them those useless throwing axes (used to have javs), gave them a bit worse helmet (changed from the plated warlord helmet) and removed their shoulderguards. I have no idea about the reason.

Because they wanted to make the Spearmen more useful.

Yeah, frankly the heavy axeman is in a bd place right now when compared to the heavy spearman. The spear is much more useful than the throwing axes and the sword is pretty similar to the axe in close melee. Add the fact that the spearman has better armor and skills and it’s no contest.

Which is why they should allow me to do the balancing for troops

Does it work with Serve as Soldier mod?

Throwing axes need a buff in general, they're kind of an embarrassment right now. I avoid units that use them entirely, because otherwise you have to remember to set them to hold fire so they don't wast time futilely flinging low damage projectiles instead of assisting your other infantry. Throwing AI could also probably use tweaks. You can lose infantry vs. infantry engagements you'd win on hold fire, because your throwing infantry hangs back being worthless and cuts down their number advantage and ruins their formation structure.

Gotta say I 100% agree with you on this one, they really did Sturgians dirty with all the gear changes their infantry have had. I really miss shock trooper and old heavy axeman. tbh there are so many things that just seem silly or downright stupid when it comes to gear choices for the different factions, like some T5 units having T0 gloves or just no shoulders at all or how the elite cataphract doesn't use the cataphract lance OR mace, or how the battanian warlord scale armor feels like it has 10-15 less BA than it should, there's so many things I could list, completely nonsensical. all the "troop tree revised, I put so much love and care into this rework of units" all look like buttcheeks as well. they always either rip apart the theme of the faction by giving them generic-ass unit types or completely miss the mark on giving any of the units appropriate gear to begin with. RBM is probably the only one that doesn't drive me insane.

sidenote, damn man, I come back to this forum years later and you're still here trying to get the khan's guard destroyed. one of these days I need to make a big fat rant about the game on here and I better see you in the replies

The MLW mod...I need that to affect the A.I aswell, does it work with it?
You can configure the MLW to let the player clan lords recruit from the custom troops, but if you want all lords to be able to recruit them you need to add them to a mod like ATC to substitute the troop tree without having to overwrite them. You could also just overwrite the troop tree, but you have to keep the original troop IDs. Using ATC works better but it's a little more work. If you are using SaS you will also have to add the custom troops to the list of possible troops you can choose.

I had an example of a mod i had made a few months ago, but i deleted everything last week. Try using this mod as an example. If you change the XML files names you have to change the path in the SubModule.xml.
-First you have to create the troop tree with MLW, then export it in the tavern menu.(it will create a new mod file with the name you choose)
-Open the troops.xml file from the mod you created and change the unit IDs to the ones you want to use(don't forget to change the upgrade paths to the new ID's as well)
-Copy the troops to the troops.xml in your new mod's moduledata folder. Do it a few at a time to make debugging easier.
-Add your troops to the Partytemplates.xml (Lord starting troops, etc)
-Add your troops to the spcultures.xml( militias and recruits)
-Add your troops to the modconfig.xml in the config folder( let's you choose the recruits for diferent cultures)
-Add your troops to the SaS Additionaltroops.xml
