Hello all
I've read somewhere but havent confirmation for that... is it possible for my former good horse, injured in battle and demoted to "lame sumpter horse", to heal itself if I keep it in my inventory?
And if yes... how long does it take?
Thanks for replying!

One of those posts should have the information, this was all gleaned from about 5 seconds with the search, only looking at the topics and the highlighted sections.  Please, its not hard to use the search function, it saves time, and the more people that use it instead of posting new topics, the more efficient it is for everyone.

Edit:  Yes, they heal, and it depends on your wound treatment skill.  It takes approximately 30 days with a WT of 0.

However, as you shall soon learn, a Sumpter Horse isn't exactly good and thirty (game) days from now you'll be on to grander things than Sumpters. I'd recommend you eat it (and yes, you can actually do that--just put it into your food slot).

"Your" meaning your party's or your personal WT skill?

Hmm... i was under the impression that it was only your skill, and your companions weren't counted (which, honestly, makes no sense)

Its possible.  The others rarely level enough to make it worth making them an all-around hero, so I usually end up taking some surgery and wound treatment anyway.

Well Who would you rather have die. You or the horse.

Isn't something better than nothing? If you are poor enough to have a sumpter horse then you would be a a very low level and you would not be faster than it and just having the horse gives a chance for couched lance damage(I hope so at least).

Actually a lamed sumpter is just about the only animal in the game not fast enough for couching your lance. Plus it's worth nothing, a low-level character will probably find/buy another before it heals, and it'll save him money for food.

Yes, your horse will heal (if you haven't killed it yet) I had a lot of horses who got lame, so I slaughtered them & and saved the
meat in my inventory. (A little weird, but im a animal-lover so they would't suffer) and my characters are always Vegetarians.
But I didn't have the guts to killed my beloved Lame Courser so I kept it and after 5-10 days he was a normal courser. I think the horse heal faster if you rest in a tavern.

Excuse my bad English

Well, someone said it would take him thirty days to heal it. By then he should have, well, whatever he wants to ride.

...That horse-healing thing is highly variable. Even with wound at three or four I have never [never meaning never] seen a single horse mend, even up to as many as 70+ days [taking notes]. I have tried this enough now and will never bother again until the next version.

The horses has to be kept in YOUR inventory to heal, you can't ride them and you can't store them in a companions inventory.

I atcully didn't know that horses heal. I just slaugthered them all. But I don't use horses anymore so it doesn't matter.

When you have 50,000 denars, and your horse is crippled, it's easier to make it into meat and buy a new Spirited Charger later.
