Haven't Played in Years - Sieges Fixed?

Users who are viewing this thread

I haven't played Mount and Blade in a couple of years, but Brytenwalda was one of my favorite mods. Unfortunately, there were a couple of issues that I considered bad enough that I couldn't keep playing it and I want to check in and see if this is still an issue.

The first issue was that the pathing for some sieges was ridiculous. My troops, when set to move to a certain area, would run around in odd patterns. This only happened in certain cities/castles, and I don't remember which ones.

The second issue was of enemy troops getting stuck in certain buildings during sieges. Stuck in such a way that I couldn't kill them, so the siege would never end unless I cheated.

Has anyone encountered these issues lately?

if you enjoyed BW you should check Viking Conquest (the DLC), created by the same group of people. It was release on 2014/2015, it is still on life support (bugs get patches), etc, and it is a much improved version over the original BW. They are not the same game however, so your experience with them will depend on your own taste.

BW is not getting updates anymore. You can play submods like reworked, but it is not maintained by the original creators and thus has its own flavour/way of doing things.

Kalarhan, have you seen this issue in VC? Where in the code can I isolate it.

@Seconis: I don't see these bugs very often and would guess that are related to the pathfinding set up for buildings.
Buildings are set up with entry points that could restrict movement in battles.
