Ummm...do you think you could possibly be more broad???? What exactly are you babbling about? Who's narrowminded about what? You disagree with someone so it must be them who's "narrowminded" i guess. The fact is alot of issues have been brought up and everyone presents their different views quite well actually. Not only that, but the creator actually listens to the suggestions and takes them into account. Thats a rarity indeed. So if you feel that way why not go back to counterstrike? Thats no doubt the community you came from right? So STFU nOOb!!!111! jOO gOt pwned by my 1337 h@X!

Heh! Keep calm Worbah! I think it's just a unique situation that people can make a suggestion for a game and there's a very real possibility that they'll see their own suggestion in the game within a matter of weeks.
It's a huge plus that Armagan & Ipek are so devoted to their community, and as a result people are naturally quite passionate about what they want to see. I've noticed a few getting a little bit 'harsh' (shall there be a plot or not guys? ) but in depth it's actually very useful and productive discussion.
There will always be people desperate for polar opposites, but it's productive to discuss things. If you feel that a particular comment or post was overly harsh or offensive then for a start I wouldn't worry as most of us will think so too! I'd just ignore any nonsense, or go and take out 20 dark knights with a hammer - that'll relieve some tension!
Hmm maybe a forumite fight to the death could be an interesting way of settling flame wars in M&B 2....

No, I mean that when ever you try to discuss the benefits and curses of fantasy, these two extremes clash. They won't even begin to listen to the other side, they just fling comments like "Fireballz suxorz!!!111" or "Youz probly iz just one o tha nerdz in history class that know the answerz!!!111"
Why can't you atleast read the other persons entire post before trying to shoot down his idea? Is that too much to ask?

I have actually found that these forums are remarkably openminded. peopler are willing to explore ideas, and seem pretty welcoming and positive about any suggestions made, as well as the game itself. even when someone makes a suggestion that some might consider "dumb" AKA "I WANT TO BE A WIZARD/ELF/FIGHT DRAGONS", people don't flame or act like the suggestor is stupid. I like that.

I joined the community only a couple of days ago, yet I can already pick out the different types of people. You really could stick a label on them.
Then again, being able to put a label on someone doesn't necessarily mean that the person is narrow-minded. He/she could have a very broad view on life, and simply have an explicit opinion on a subject which he/she will defend because in his/her eyes, it's the best way to do it.

No, they are narrowminded when they call you an idiot, say that your opinions suck, and tell you how things REALLY should be. "Asshat, orcs are the coolest thing on earth!" or "That happened a hundred years later/before the era that this game represents. I will build a time machine, go bak in time, and kick your dad in the nuts repeatedly before you were conceived."
Good replies, and just so you know i was mainly joking with my previous post Worbah. I'm not that mean I think that most of the people have a good idea about how they'd want to see this game develope, and thus aren't open to the "fantasy" ideas. The only criticism i have of the majority of people on this board is they think this game is going for absolute realism. But other than that, everyone is very openminded. Good forum!

This game is one of the VERY FEW games that doesnt have drogons or ogres and stuff. This game has awesome fighting and some people love to have monsters in it, some people dont.
My opinion is that this game would be awesome without monsters. It actually got kind of a historical feel to it, and its the only game i know that has this kind of fighting and is historical, if you put monsters and stuff in it, its gonna feel like another morrowind or daggerfal...

If you define "narrowminded" with "not even trying to go into the arguments the other side makes and instead repeating the same thing again and again, ithen ignoring it when you ask to explain this or that argument a bit more, or why two ideas have to be incompatible, or just to prove one of their arguments"... then some here are Narrowminded, yes.
As for fantasy... hm, I would really like to see a mod for that, leading an Tolkienesque army against orcs or Moon Elves against Drow and goblins - because there is no real fantasy game like M&B - yes, Morrowind&co are really nice, but it's combat isn't as interesting as M&B - and that by a lot!

It doesn't appear that these forums have any moderators, other than armagan as admin (or maybe they do have and I just haven't seen them since I haven't been looking very hard) and it seems that most arguments here either burn out or the arguments are broken up by other forumers themselves, and the threads in question are redirected back to their original topic.
I don't know of anywhere else where this level of self-moderation would happen, so kudos to everybody for not creating massive flamewar or posting profanity all the time, etc.

If you've noticed certain people being disrespectful, or flaming others, or breaching standard netiquette, why don't you take it quietly to someone who can actually do something about it? Complaining publically isn't helping any, and I hate to think that people new to the forum and game are going to see this topic as one of the first on the Discussion board, read it, and either be coloured by your opinions or decide that if this place is so bad, they don't want to be any part of it. And that would be the real shame.

You seem so worked up that you have to have a few examples. Besides, what is this "listening to the opinions of others"? Is it backing down from your own opinions instead of reasoning them to other people? With so many individual suggestions and members around, there has to be voices for both yes and no on just about every topic. One has to be able to take differing opinions and discuss his own views!
The other alternative is that the suggestions thread is full of suggestions from a to z and then everyone would just clap their hands and say: "Amazing, cool, great idea!" How smart would that be? How will it help anybody make any decisions?

*I* think it is to listen the arguments of the other side, then answering them... and not just ridiculing the other side, refusing to explain ones arguments, or ignoring them. (granted, I like to make fun of things myself far to often 
)
I tried to get a reaction to the argument that a far-eastern nation would be placed far away from the european-like nations in that thread for over 2? pages, and got no result (and I wasn't the only one... and am still waiting for the names of all those realistic Samurai Games...) - for a negative example.
Dunno if this thread is the way to go, and calling them "assholes" *really* won't help - but everyone gets angry once in a while (though it is better to wait until the anger is gone and then post)
