Hating Arena fights - ganging up on the player, en masse.

This happens to me all the time, I kill half the guys in the arena brawl.
Then, when there are less then ~10 guys left, they ALL focus me...

What the *peep *is that ganging up on people?! Is this supposed to be when you kill a lot of the fighters, or just a random fault, where in all AI fighters should just pick the closest opponent to fight with.

If you have taken out the majority of the participants I would guess they see you as the biggest threat and prioritize you.

It's because arena fighters spawn as members of teams, even though you can't tell what team they're on. (I think there are four possible teams, like tournaments. You're on one team by yourself, and no one else will spawn on your team.)

When they start spawning en masse, it's almost inevitable that a majority of one team will form, as they gang up and take out fighters of opposing teams. Eventually, you're left with fighters of a single team vs you, which is what you're seeing.

Ways to avoid it are when you have multiple opponents around, look for fights where there are two or more on one, and help out the single fighter.

or kill them all as they come by. thats why i love 2h sword in arena fights.

when you run towards enemy with 2h sword at certain point of time (time is always same) if they started by blocking they lower their guard and you get free hit in. this does not work with shield men who you need to  kick and slash.  combine this with helping when two gang one you should be able to win every now and then.

The only way I've done it is by hanging around the walls until the last 10 or so guys then head to the centre and take them down with a bow as soon as they appear. The last 10-12 guys spawn rapidly and if you're near the walls they'll mob you because you're too close to where they spawn. Also pick up weapons of your choice and replace damaged shields.
