Hardcore?

Sergeant at Arms
I'm just curious how many people play "hardcore" meaning max damage to self, team, all settings at hardest, messages turned off, no exit w/o save, and....1st person only. Basically ultra realistic mode. I have thought about it...haven't yet though. Could be fun to play and just have to roll with the punches. Though I really want the thing that lets the battle keep going after you get KOed first.

I'm playing on the highest difficulty possible without "no exit without saving" because as good as this game is it still has a lot of glitches and random things that sometimes force me to reload the game.
I usually try not to exit and reload a game if not for the above reason, however.

I have damage settings to normal, striking, blocking and couching on manual, and I play on realistic. Didn't change the battle speed(might do it in the future) and I see no point in removing the messages. I usually play on 1st person, but I'm not fanatic about it - I sometimes change to 3rd to look around corners - I just find in more comfortable to play on 1st. Also makes me feel in-character...

I kept the default battle size, but that's because my computer is 4 years old. I plan on buying a new one this year and than I'll change it to max.

Default is 150 in Warband. Do you mean default in M&B (100) ?

I always play with damage on normals for both and I prefer playing in 1st person, even in MP. Of course, your view is limited to the front, but you can block easier and it's easier to see what your enemy is doing and I can aim way better with bows and x-bows in 1st person. Needless to say that 1st person is just epic

I play with realistic saving, normal damage for all, never much cared about turning off the messages, current difficulty rating is "122%", the only thing I have on automatic is lance control.

I play with everything turned up to max/hardest (except for speed... I prefer my battles NOT to look like a Benny Hill sketch gone awry) though I play in 3rd person. I've been doing it for so long that 1st person completely throws my aim off. I don't disable the messages, since they don't really make things easier or offer any particular advantage.

Oh, and I play Quit Without Saving. As mentioned above, M&B can be a little too... unpredictable to make realistic viable in my eyes.

I have it on 95%+, i forget, difficulty, with battle speed at fast, combat AI on good.......

Good F*CKING LUCK on duels with other lords when you denounce them to their face.... I hope your good at blocking with just a sword, and get ready to **** kick the hell out of them

Played with everything on max and the hardest part of the game was training retarded peasants because fighting 2 of them with manual blocking on fastest speed is harder than fighting 10 mamlukes by myself on same settings but with my normal gear.

I dont play in first person because im fairly sure it would make me sick IRL.

Generally I find in duels that if you can block the first swing, you can get right up in their face and go ape**** on them and spam away. Generally they panic and die in seconds

Duels are easy long as you have 1hander and shield.  As said before block then attack if they seem like they are getting off a quick attack then dont risk that yours is going to land first and just block.  Eventually they go down and you will probably still be at full.

No shield  Just 1H. I won, just didnt expect it to actually be a challenge

Yea, I didnt block the first shot I thought he was too far away lol. Dont know, maybe just need to work on my 1 on 1
