A noncombatant country that had no idea the attack was going to come.  (Well, Pearl Harbor didn't know)

An attack was pretty obviously going to come, all your air craft carriers were at sea, your deteriorating relations, the government fail to act.

A non-combatant country that was waging an economical war against them because Japan was interfering with our exploitation of China. Also, we stole Hawaii from them with no valid claim. As to having no warning, that's only because the higher ups were a bunch of racists who wrote the Japanese off as incompetent yellowfellows with buck teeth and massive glasses.

As for the Japs, I'll worry about hating them when their women stop being so damn hot.

an attack on a country aiding enemies of Japan's allies.
there is also the Greer incident where either the USS Greer had attacked a German U boat which then returned fire or the U boat attacked the Greer which then returned fire. this was in Sept 1941, so the US should have, at least, been preparing for an attack of some description from Germany or her allies.

So? Sheesh. The Nazi's actually invaded the Netherlands, a non-combatant and neutral country, and bombed one of our major cities to dust yet I hear no one suggesting a "kill a kraut revenge day."

Mainly because we don't have nukes.

Oh, and no ass-load of complexes and arrogance either. How dare the japs attack AH-MER-I-CAAAAH! *cue angelic choir*

Europe is like a collection of siblings that fight from time to time but in between fights they get along (at least enough to play games and sell each other things)

the USA is like an only child that can't accept that the world doesn't revolve around them although they like to think it does

Maybe that's because they're a bunch of push overs with next to no political clout on the global scene?

Based on the nature and point of this thread, this same question  applies to you, Tib.  I'm surprised it's been allowed to continue given the rules, and the fact that there are patrons of Japanese descent here.  But at least one of them realizes the AG is infested with childish pricks now, and so doesn't give much of a ****.  Like generations past, the new gen is rife haters, who often hate for the sake of hating, as they really have no other reason to.  Other than having been indoctrinated ....

Economic war?
Yes, America set up several boycotts in an attempt to stop Japan's expansion. Of primary concern was the expansion into China, which America and several European nations were in the process of bilking. Oddly enough, the Japanese took it personal.

America decided to annex it while the Japanese were trying to colonize it, and swept all protests under the rug. Oddly enough, the Japanese took it personal.

Really, while Japan was certainly not the good guys during the war, it's not like they didn't have good reason to bloody America's nose. If anything, I'm surprised they were the only ones to do so, as America had a bad habit of treating everyone with disgust.

Considering Japan did not have the adequate support they felt they deserved at the end of WW1, that played a factor as well.

Didnt we send those flying tigers guys over to help fight off Japan in China..or was that after we got into the war.

Oh and dont forget a respected American General warned of an attack...Patton

Why would i want to kill them? They loyally served the Reich until the end, and bravely assaulted the American demons. Sieg Heil, honorary Aryans.
