Any chance we can get a hall of fame like Strange Invaders from Outer space?

Name of character, gold, number of solders, day game ended, etc.

Or something similar for retired characters or dead NPCs.

See http://taleworlds.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=1548&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=nominated+voted+hall+fame

My Hall of Fame suggestion - again, sounding like a broken vinyl disc with etched groovings - we need additional reasons to play after 10,000 battles.

In order for that to happen, there actually has to be a point at which the game can end.

You know, you have a point, which makes me think that maybe it shoudn't be that you just get "knocked unconscious" when you lose a battle? Perhaps your character should have a set number of lives after which he dies?

It would certainly make the game more realistic, and probably make for a better, more intense gaming experience too.

Last time i checked most people don't get extra lives...so i don't see how that would be realistic *beats head on desk until death to see how many lives he has left* But a hardcore mode has already been suggested.

I'd say that a bunch of things should happen when you get defeated. Some of those could be you ending up as a prisoner and being carted to the salt mine, where you have to work until either your remaining soldiers come to free you, or you somehow escape on your own.

Or perhaps you're forced to sever all ties with the vaegirs/swadians and become a bandit under pain of death.

Or if you really get clobbered in a fight, you actually die.

I'd like to have a small chance of death in the game, but only at higher levels.

Much like Pirates! really. Would also make it all the more important to have more companions and powerful allies.

Indeed. However, being so realistic it's all too easy to die as is. I say at least you should cut the player some slack (depending on level of difficulty) and give him a few extra "lives", ie. you escape but loose stuff and reputation.

If you die you could choose playing as one of your companions/soldiers, or relative if families are going to be implemented (much like Europa 1400 - The Guild). This way you wouldn't have to start from scratch. Remaining equipment could carry over too (inheritance?).

Tough call really this balance between realism and playability

I find this interesting. Armagan said that he based the idea of m&b off Pirates!, and it seems all the good ideas for flexibility of what the character can do and affect in the world are already features in this Pirates! game. I'll have to check it out.

Thanks for your replies...

yes - this would probably have to be available only with a "death" option (or a 5 times unconcious = death or capture).

Rank or station in life could also be included...

I would love to be able to play different character types to conclusion and then have a HoF to look back on my various greatnesses...
