Half Swording

I don't know about you guys, but I think Half Swording should be added in Bannerlord (or in a mod for warband at least). Say your fighting a guy in full on plate (or mail considering that Warband is based in the 13th Century) and you have a two handed sword. You know that slashing at him will mean nothing, so why not using something blunt? Something that could weaken the armor, to give a good hard blow to give em a licking. Like a warhammer. You look at your pommel, grab the sword by the blade, and hit the guy right on the helmet with your pommel. He falls over, unconcious. Tadaa,you did half swording



Now we know that two handed sword in Warband are pretty powerful in itself already, but I think making the the sword slashes have less damage when facing heavily armored opponents (Dismounted Swadian knights, Swadian Sergents, Nord Huscarls, etc) would help make it balanced.

Mehh... maybe doing it would have the speed rating be slower, according to the precise grab the user must keep at all times. I haven't actually seen or felt a sword in front of my very eyes, not in a video, but I'm sure that it would be a bit effective. Provided that an enemy doesn't sneak attack you, catch you off guard, and ultimately release your grip!

I don't want to be the grammar nazi here, but male armor doesn't exist. What I'm pretty sure you're saying is mail armor.

If you want to decrease the amount of damage dealt by a certain type of damage, you can edit it in the native thing with a gear in the modules file.

Then it's official. Half Swording should be a feature then. I'm not much of a modder, but I would see this be done easily in the community.

Implementing it wouldn't be a problem, but i can't see there being much of a use for it in game when there are no physics to back it up. Half-swording is probably one of the more common suggestions for bannerlord but it ignores the fact that you'd have to introduce shield physics and weapon "ragdolling" for it to be worthwhile. Otherwise it'd just be a blunt, slow version of the sword you might pull out sometimes.
