man, just finished soloing 413 rhodoks. whew. but I think their cannoneers got half the kills.

I think so.

I fought an army of 500 Nords, and their cannoneers killed around 300 of their own guys.

It happens a LOT.

So where are those cannons that I see on the front page pictures, I thought cannoneers manned cannons not carried them in their hands.

would it be possible to just set the size on a cannon to be rather huge, visually? Even if it looked odd, it would be a lot more plausible if they were moving around with something actually cannon sized. Make the weight very high so it slows the troop moving it down, and you have cannons. The animations wouldn't necessarily match, but it'd be close enough, I'd think.

edit:: and they should cost more than 12 a week

I think the issue with that is M&B is forced to use specific kinds of player models, or so I think. In turn I'm not sure it's possible to create a unit that looks like a cannon that will act on its own. What I'm curious about is, is it possible to make cannons appear in the scenes like trenchbaults do in sieges then have the player or another unit, the cannoners, stand behind them and fire them somehow. Perhaps a trigger like formations that when a key is pressed near the cannon it fires and what-not. That might be stretching it a bit but worth asking.

What I mean is replace the weapon model. I've seen screenshots of some pretty huge weapons, many created accidentally. If something similar could be done with a cannon, it could look like a man standing behind a cannon. As I said, the animation might not line up, but it'd look a lot more plausible.

I keep getting some error, I have no idea what it is, but it keeps happening on the world map, whenever I move:

129mb2.bmp

It spams it so much that I can't see ANY news updates because the list is far off screen everything disappears before it gets to the screen. Makes fighting battles REALLY hard. I have no idea what causes it.

Any ideas from anyone?

That's a common bug also in native. Not Mirathei's fault
I've had it numerous times in native:

If you search bug reports it's been reported many times. I don't know what causes it. Did you just conquer a castle or something?

Ahh, I see, my bad.

I just helped defend a castle, actually. Rhodok attacked a Swadian castle, and since I'm Vaegir (we're not at war with Swadia) I helped out and we won.

Might have caused it?

You place the unzipped folder called 'Gun Thunder' in:
programs/mount&blade/modules (or whereever you have M&B - but it's in the modules folder where 'native' also is).

Then try again. It should be in the drop down menu.

Here's the FAQ on installing a mod:
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,12683.0.html
nope still not in the drop down menu

Hmm... So you download gun thunder, unzip the file, go to mount&blade folder and open modules folder.
Then drag-and-drop the gun thunder folder into the modules folder and launch M&B. Choose gun thunder from the drop down menu. Play.

If that doesn't work I don't know what could be wrong.

my module folder is the savegames folder, i have searched my files etc and it appears that my module folder is the savegames folder, anyway i had downloaded the HYW and that worked fine, is it possible i didnt have a module folder?

Just dont download the realistic steel textures, makes everyone pure white

Ah, I was wondering what was causing that. Good find.

Any idea how to fix it so we can use realistic steel textures without problems?

Impossible.

How can your save games folder be the module folder?

DON'T PUT THE .RAR OR .ZIP FILE IN.

Your M&B module folder should be:

C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\Modules\

Remember, place the FOLDER IN Modules, like how Native is put in there. Don't replace native, don't put the TEXT files in the module folder, keep it in the Gun thunder module folder.

If that doesn't work either,

Download M&B and install again after uninstalling M&B.

Download Gunthunder again, and put it in the module folder.

Because,

If you don't HAVE a module folder, you can't possibly play Mount&Blade, unless you have the crappy pirated version.

i have it all sorted out  now anyway, and by the way when i go to do a quick battle a get an error and it quits with a message saying the battle is over you lost 0 men and killed 0 men, i think other people have this bug too

Hooah i  am downloadign it now , it looks very nice.I will set the battlesizer to 150 or 200 (Usually keep it on 120) and i will turn ragdolls off , that should give better performance with lots of people : )

Cannoneers are little overkill, early cannons were big and almost useless against troops unless these advanced slowly in huge masses and most of the damage was done by solid shots not huge fireball effect , but what is really missing are hand grenades!

Grenades existed long before gunpowder was discovered and Chinese created first true gunpowder grenades 400 years before Europeans, so adding nice throwing weapon would make castle defense much more possible when faced with cannons.
