Modding the text files is very limited.  You will not be able to integrate the Diplomacy code by modding the text files.  You can try, and you might spend a month on it and find out it didn't work.

How can I use the base diplomacy mod within a mod of my own? for example: even just base native with a few added textures and a new campaign map.

The Diplomacy source includes the Warband module system- the Diplomacy codes are integrated into the source.  There is an updated Diplomacy for WB 1.168, which is the current Warband version and also a Diplomacy 4.3 for Warband 1.15x and above.

Hello. Is it possible to combine diplomacy with l`aigle?
It is possible if you have the source code for both.  Even then, the two may have some incompatibilities.

I think this would be very difficult to do without problems.  From what I understand, the VC team added a number of their own scripts to replace some of the Diplomacy functions so it would be very difficult to successfully merge the two.

only way it to learn how modding works, the modsys, MBScript and study the difference between Native/Diplomacy/VC to incorporate any features you want to the DLC.

That process can take several dozen hours if you are a new modder. If you are willing to invest the time you can visit the Forge to learn more.

There should be a way using modmerger.  It depends on which version of Diplomacy and PBOD you want.  There are modmerger kits available for some versions and it looks like the custom troop trees are also set up for modmerging.  If you know how to use modmerger you should be able to get it to work.  If you get some errors, you might need to merge some code by hand, which would be more work.

Hey, complete noob here:

I'm trying to make my own module for the first time, using Diplomacy and PBOD with the native game (I tried downloading an old version of Diplo + PBOD that didn't need the WSE but it was broken). However, I'm getting lots of red text during gameplay, so clearly I did something wrong. I've looked up all sorts of tutorials, and followed instructions for both PBOD and Diplomacy, but to no avail.

Any suggestions? I know its possible to combine these two features, as loads of mods do, but I'm new to the whole module-generation thing.
