[GUIDE] Forcing open courtship with a lord/lady

Sergeant
"My lady, there are other maidens who have captured my heart..."

Does this very line make you want to punch a wall? Have you had your sights on some babe damsel or woman lord and they just won't stop blabbing this sentence? The fact is, that sometimes courtship status is bugged and some NPCs will be stuck on this line. I have found a solution....

This will make it so any able NPC/Lord will be open to marriage proposal once again.
STEP 1: Download Save Game Editor by kushulian: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,295270.0.html
STEP 2: Open Editor, and import the Savegame you want...
STEP 3: Go to... troop/#xxxx(yourNPC)/#slots/slot_troop_courtship_state
STEP 4: Change the value to 0.

Now you should be able to log in, and get a real answer to your proposal

QUIXOTE'S FUNTIME NOTES
-Changing this value to other numbers can have different results too. Reportedly, 2 = professed admiration, 3 = agreed to seek a marriage, 4 = ended relationship. I just put 0....pretty sure it means the lord/lady now has NO romance life.
-You can scroll down a bit more in the #slots section to find a whole load of other fun options. Sometimes, a large Value number (ex. "880") will mean another NPC's ID (this was Jeremus for me). So if you go into Sanjar Khan and put "880" under slot_troop_mother, his mother will be Jeremus ingame!
-On that note, you can also force NPCs to be married! If you have two companion-vassals and you want to RP them to be wed, just go to slot_troop_spouse and change it to their IDs. Make sure to vice-versa it. Ex. For Jeremus(#880) change Value to 871, for Ymira(#871) change Value to 880.

Easier... export your character, put a hundred to your charisma, import and talk to the lord, then you can edit again to return your stats to normal.

LOL, that is one way to do it. However, some vassals (particularly claimants/companions who have become vassals) will be bugged on this screen indefinitely. No matter what your charisma, I have found that exporting that way did not work for me in some cases.

Changed the variable to 0 for the man I want to marry, but when I talk to him after loading the new save, he still says "there are other maidens...". Saving and then opening the new save shows that the value reverted back to 1 again, any idea what's going on (using PoP if it matters).

Wouldn't a more fun fix be to allow you to hit them with something heavy? Like an axe...

Same goes for those annoying "ladies" who have you running off to challenge every lord in your faction to win her heart...
