Group member disappeared??

I had a peasant woman with me, we attacked river pirates i killed a few than realised i was about to become level 6 and retreated from battle to avoid getting a new level but after retreating i realised the woman wasnt with me, i am sure that she didnt die in battle and she isnt shown as a prisoner with the pirates besides i killed them just to be sure and she wasnt with them, she isnt in the map as a free prisaner also. What is this?

Noticed that too (Btw, buy the game). It's so, that if you push "Retreat" In-Battle, it's almost the same as surrendering, but you just loose your troops. At least some of them, not sure.

When you retreat some of your troops may be knocked out/killed.

Are you sure it always happens? I used to hire bands of peasants to be able to get caravan jobs and i dont remember anything happened like that with them or maybe i just didnt notice since they were crowded.
I am going to buy the game of course but i dont have money in my account right now and banks are closed now, waiting for monday and will raise money in the game till monday.
