vary nice, definately threatening. i agree, shield should be bigger. how about the kind of shield with the curve in at the middle sides.

I like the idea, but you must be very carefull not to exagerate.

To strong models could bring new problems such as overlaping arms and armors.

Cheers!

shield like this design, but black would be awesomes: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://hellenic-art.com/armour/ah6119.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.albanian.com/v4/showthread.php%3Ft%3D10478%26page%3D2&usg=__dtkSjlf9oImgIqHwZ194PFFfsps=&h=287&w=300&sz=16&hl=en&start=0&sig2=04iqUQ2akfvX_MPSQn7OCA&zoom=1&tbnid=FJiQfaVVG1g76M:&tbnh=148&tbnw=130&ei=dEMJTc1rkKiwA6KY1KoO&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dgreek%2Bshield%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dactive%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:eek:fficial%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D762%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=652&vpy=71&dur=269&hovh=220&hovw=230&tx=140&ty=151&oei=dEMJTc1rkKiwA6KY1KoO&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0

that's not real, it's from the movie Troy. So if we were to take it as historical, it would be about 1000 years too old. Also it's a complete fantasy.

looking really good so far, when do we expect a finished product for warband?

nobody knows.

From his previous post in one of the last pages, I presume he just means the boeotian style with a black texture.

I think Koryvantes organization is if not the best, one of them...

I want to share the link with all of you, specially Lynores to take reference

This is the first greek hoplite reenactment site that actually caught my attention. Nice photos, especially poses and shot angles.

He´s talking about the "melanohitonais", the Thespian black cloacks, who were good sword fighters. They were hoplites, but good sword fighters.

You mean this:

right?

I like them too.

They have fought with Lacedemonians in Thermopilae. They were the ones who have exchanged cloacks with the Lacs.

Just a peak at another greek mesh. Arms rescaled, fists redone, chiton resized and mapped, new WB materials added, overall retexture, arms and legs normal mapped. WIP.

Brilliant stuff really!
But maybe the fists should be a bit lighter?

The hands? That's native shading, I never really messed with native hands, but I can give it a shot.

EDIT:

They're darker in the second pic because of the animation, though. As you can see in the first one, they're not so dark as I use the same shader for the arms.
