Sometimes doing policies before voting for a fief, changes the way the king votes. But it takes some save /loading and you need quite some influence
Another 1 is. Kings tend to take fiefs which are neighbouring their own fiefs. So If you are lucky you can isolate the fiefs of the king. That way he is limited in taking fiefs.
However i do agree, there should be a limit or an average count which limits the kings fiefs to max. average count +1 = max fiefs. The average fiefs in your play seems 1.5 per lord. So that would mean IMO the king should be limited to 2 or 3 fiefs.
Also king fiefs can't be redistributed like those from vassals, by voting for a new owner. If the change this then after the initial redistribution of the fief. there could be another one down the line.

Yup, I'm all up for king having more fiefs than others, after all he is the king. But right now its just absurd and doing a vassal playthrough is not at all rewarding or enjoyable experience.

All rewarded by the 1 true king Raganvad. You just need to know how and when to conquer cities... Try conquering towns for others first.. don't defend some towns so u can take them... Make sure all others got a fief before u do.

This problem is even more disturbing because there is a bug where if you speak to a lord who has beyond a certain amount of fiefs, the game will frieze as it cannot properly display all the fiefs they want to tell you they have. So in a long game of 1.4.1 style you could end up against an enemy king with so many fiefs that your game freezes and you can never fight him in a normal battle that has pre-battle dialogue. I hope this has been patched but I've seen no particalr notes about it.

Please make sure that your game, your drivers, and OS are up to date and the game has necessary permissions over your security software.
