I've been listening to A History of Britain by David Crowther for a long time now.  It's a very well researched and excellently presented podcast.  The first 20 or so episodes cover 500-1000AD.  I highly recommend it and you can find it on iTunes by searching A History of Britain

I just recently found another EXCELLENT podcast called The British History Podcast.  The depth of focus on the Dark Age years is just incredible.  Right now there are 106 episodes in total.  The first 44 episodes cover prehistory, the Celts and the Roman periods.  Episodes 45 through 106 focus on the post-Roman/early Anglo-Saxon period.  I am used to English/British history programs glossing over the early Anglo-Saxon period but this podcast is different...much different.

Even though the podcast has already covered 61 episodes, the material has yet to pass the year 600AD!  That's how in depth this material goes...

The presenter is also very good and the writing is great as well.

If you're a history nerd...give this a shot!
