Great opportunity for Crusader-based Faction

As you can see there is a perfect location on the current map for a crusader-based faction. And on top of that they are using 2 color combinations that aren't currently used by other factions! The Red and White. Not only is this a free location for a new faction, but it fits the narrative of the crusades (I realize that bannerlord factions are not based on history but hear me out). Heavily armored, heavily trained foot-based troops travelling from thousands of miles away to arrive at the desert of the Aserai to begin their Crusade. They land on the edge of the continent and begin their conquest across the desert. What great potential there is for a new faction.

The crusades were evil and part of the white supremacy problem we have today. Please let's not bring this to Bannerlord.

Yeah, I personally think, that they're going to give us in the future some DLC? It would be sad if they didn't having in mind that there is so much
undeveloped land

The game is supposed to be dynamic, so having a faction based solely on a single invasion against a single faction feels a bit silly and one-dimensional to me. What's more the Crusades evoke a very specific historical context and having guys with Templar outfits running around the map would just be distracting. And I say this as someone whose favourite historical period is the Crusades.

The game is already full of historical stereotypes, and adding these guys would be like having Tamerlane or Oda Nobunaga just appearing at the side of the map.

inb4 everyone just focuses on this comment and the thread devolves into bad arguments:

Speaking of Oda Nobunaga, is there a Samurai armor easter egg in this game too? If now, how about a weeb Japanese faction?

wow... went straight to "white supremacy" route. Not religion and how Bannerlord doesn't have that in the game. Go play on reddit, don't need to hear that nonsense (race blaming) here.

To answer OP i think it would be cool but how much different would they be to Vlandia other than back story? Teutonic Order, Knights templar, the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem like ideas are like 200 yrs ahead in timeline based on the model of some faction so i see issues. Also i think ship travel and sea battles need to be added if we are going to have another far to reach southern kingdom. Plus the troop tree and equipment may be too buffed compared to most factions if the armor is plated at tier 3 and onward. The Mod AD 1257 im sure will come and fill this playthrough if not a DLC.

I don't think a low-fantasy game like Bannerlord should mix with real history.
That would be immersion breaking for me.
Also I am personally not a big fan of crusaders.

I would prefer religion be kept out, but seeing as there are hints of it already in the game, it wouldn't surprise me if they did add a crusader kingdom eventually.

Personally, I'd prefer that they give that land to an Italian city-state alliance kind of faction.

talesworld isnt gonna do any of that and have no intension to. but when the game is released and the tools are avaliable, modders will make plenty of new factions and story and trust me the crusades will be there and plenty of knight based factions

The game talk about the fall of roman empire. Around 450. Islam was not a think. And Asarei could see the birth of it. But is way too much early for crusaders.
You can ask for a mod about it, but not in the base game.

Crusader are a counterattack that require a holy war that caused loss of land.

There is much "wasted" space that needs to be filled. With a new faction or minor faction. Or they can give to Aserai and make some new concept to balance: some kind of weaker village with limited recruiting and weaker economy but cheaper improvements.

I like the aesthetics of the crusaders, although I feel a warrior order in general instead of crusading focus factiong ig

Although tbh I'd like to see new concepts for factions, maybe a persian one, indian or even more fat east, but in the west

What the hell historical nonsense did you study? This is perhaps the most profoundly stupid comment I have seen in here in 8 years.

yeah, even the other issues aside, it's a pretty silly idea.

I honestly think that this comment was meant as a joke (the comment you are talking about).

And to add something to the original topic of this thread, we do have vlandia, they come pretty close to crusaders I think, I would rather have another faction, that differs more from the ones already existing.

Perhaps I should turn my meter up. Just woke up. He got me I guess.
