Graphics hosed..

well, i did some of the things suggested in the general forum post on system tweaking for noobs, and now my M&B spazzes out when i load it

this is what my main screen looks like, the buttons actually seem to work, but i haven't tried playing like this yet..

i'm not sure what could have done this, other games seem to work fine.. tried medal of honor.. just updated my graphics card driver.. tried a fresh download and install of M&B.. not sure where to go next..

i played with disabling some system processes as described in the thread i mentioned, maybe that could be it.. thats the first thing i'll check, but it seems unlikely and i cant think of anything else it could be..

You say that you tried a fresh download and install, but did you completly remove the old install? Often when doing a fresh install folks will just do it right over the old one. Make sure that ALL components of the old install are removed before you do the new install.

yes, i uninstalled and deleted the old folders, even the old .711's i had, all i saved was some module info, which i put in a seperate folder i labeled TEMP

I did all the stuff from the original post.
I did everything from 6/ and down on the first reply.

The only thing I can imagine hurt it was the last one.. 11a.. but I used the linked website as a guide, and no idea which change may have hurt me.. I am most likely going to try enabling and starting all those processes and seeing if it fixes the problem, but I'll wait to see if someone has a better suggestion...

If you can access them, try disabling all the video options within the game. I get very severe flickering unless I disable shadows in M&B V0.711 and V0.730, ATI Radeon 9800 128MB in a Dell Dimension 8300.

i think i have it
apparently nvidia is retarded
they make one driver for all their cards, but the later versions of dont work well with older cards, so i am supposed to find an older version of the driver..
downloading one now, i'll see if it works out (i'm pretty sure its actually the driver i had before upgrading..)
