Got a new comp, and am having probs, shop not open till tomorrow, hoping you guys could help.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium, and an Nvidia GEforce GTX 560.

When I first started up I got the win7 loading screen, then blank, nothing.

After f8, and going with "last setting that worked", I could do the first time stuff and activate windows, figured my prob was over. Noticed when I couldn't run any games that the nvidia drivers weren't being used, and it looked like the graphics card was being used as a big adapter.

I installed the drivers, and now I get the loading screen, then when it should come up with the log in screen, the screen says "No video signal" and goes to sleep. I can log in in safe mode. I have tried reinstalling the drivers, but nothing seems to work. If I simply uninstall the nvidia drivers it will log in, but then I have basically no graphics capability.

I googled the problem, and found loads of people having trouble with GTX 560, or the drivers, but none the same as mine. Most were in game crashes.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
LOS

Maybe the card's manufacturer recommends a different driver set.  Are the drivers you're using from an install disc or from nVidia?  You're connecting directly to one of the video card's display ports, correct?  Not to the motherboard's display port if your motherboard has integrated graphics; possibly disable onboard graphics if that's the case.

Plug your monitor into your onboard plug. Then fix your problem from there. Unless the inverse, which is also the above comment, is true.
