Graphical Enhancement 2.5, version 3 is in Pioneer's Guild.

Tree problem:
It's not too bad in my experience, although the fade is a little too quick. My current working versions (i.e. unreleased) are better in that respect.

Fade to dark:
I'd forgotten about it. I'll try it out. It's too bad we can't have separate sets of night and day textures.

Zaro: Thanks a lot for the work you put into this, it's just absolutely awesome.

Now I think they ought to use some of your screenshots on all of these gaming sites, because they are a lot better and more beautiful than the standard ones, which look rather bland. Perhaps your shots are not entirely representative of the games graphics since you only post the very best stuff (or so I assume), but then again, so do other games.

Seeing all these new screenshots makes we want to fix my windows installation so I can play M&B again.

to the problem of skybox,  most reason is the video card not good enough.
you can just resize the DDS from 4096*2048 to 2048*1024 with DX1 format.

here are some more skybox resource for those who want more changes......

but if you want to use these in M&B ,  resize the pic to 2048*1024

Skybox Textures (4096x1024)

All textures are high quality JPEG, uncompressed TGA/BMP are not available at this time.
These royalty-free skydome textures work best when applied to a sphere or hemisphere.

Hint: To use them as skys in Blender, add an icosphere and texture map the image to it using UV map or 'Sphere' coordinates.
Hint: To use them as environment reflection maps in Blender, map it to an object using the 'ref' coordinates.

【the origenal page can not open again,  so i had to use my picasa album:  http://picasaweb.google.com/alixyang/SKYbox
you can download full size picture there, or just from the above mofile pack 】

Replacement skyboxes released. They're low-res, but I'd recommend using them over the original skyboxes as the originals were rushed and probably don't look any better. And they're actually in the correct format this time (easy mistake to make when you're saving texture after texture).

Uh, I'm confused, on the first of August, I downloaded GE2, but it says you just released it on the 6th? Plus, the files you have here have no installer, and the previous one I have installed now did have one, and has an uninstaller, and even says "Do you wish to Uninstall Graphical Enhancement 2.0?"

I'm really confused, it's probably an old version, but it still says 2.0..., and the one I downloaded was probably about 60MB or so...I got it from here, too, thanks.

It was updated on the 6th. It's mostly the same as the one you downloaded (there were some changes), but it's mostly just splitting up the mod into multiple downloads so people can choose what they want to use. No installers because I forgot to with the main download.

If you're still confused, ignore the 'base' download for the moment and just try out the 'No Hilly Border Terrain' and maybe the skybox replacement.

I am liking those pics on the front page, and this might be exactly the right feel for a Warhammer Bretonnia mod, but I still need to decide if I will include it in mine or just suggest it (because I am already looking at a huge download because of all the knightly gear).

Nice work Zaro, have you thought about doing a "normal" terrain version, where it isn't light or dark.

Also check this out: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,41739.0.html

pardon me if this might sound stupid or just lazy.
i didn't understand if the HDR mod is included in the GE2 or if it has to be downloaded separately. if it's the latter, where can i get it? i couldn't find it in the repository.

Wow! Those graphics are amazing, they should be default in v1.0..
Which of your packs did you use to make the screenshot in your signature? (That screenshot looks stunning!)

Great work keep it up!

It's separate, and you can find a link in the first post next to the link for the light version (which hasn't been released). I'll put up a HDR pack when I've tweaked it to suit all of the textures. I want the textures to look good on their own, so rather than creating textures to be used with the HDR mod, I'm going to tweak the HDR mod to be used with the textures.

that's cool, gonna thank you in advance for your efforts

Zaro 说:
That reminds me SO much of the shire
Which shire? I hope it's a place in Britain and not a fictional land inhabited by that universe's version of the teletubbies .

I do actually mean the hobbits' shire.. Because your picture simply closely resembles their environment (from the LotR movies at least)

And I don't see the link with the teletubbies except for the lush, green hilly environment which your pic also shows. :???:

The last pic is nice in terms of lighting (except for as you said maybe the trees a bit) but the colour is way too saturated IMO.
Great work overall though.

Great work yet again Zaro. Can't wait to try out your new work.
One small issue though; might I suggest you have a proper changelog? With all the stuff you're pumping out, I have a hard time keeping track!
GJ!

Rgds,

Zathan

I couldn't remember what it looked like in the movies, so I was just hoping it wasn't fantasy/happy and that you did mean something resembling real hills . The teletubbies comment was referring to hobbits.

Don't worry about the saturation, it's a different set to the one you commented on.

might I suggest you have a proper changelog?

Good idea.

Hey Zaro, been awhile since i've been on the forums, let alone play M&B. You decide to come back after all, or you just finishing the GE mod?

PS: Awesome work, love the HDR desat.
