This is not a suggestion, nor is it an idea. It is a fantasy, a dream. I wish it were to be implemented, but alas the chance of that is slim.

So, without furthur ado...

Grand Theft Horsie:
Mount & Blade

Anyway, how many of you have run along on foot for like 10 minutes trying to get that guy on the horse but he just hits you and runs by? While, I have an idea. I got that idea from jacking vehicles in Halo 2.

What if you could slow down time and steal a horse? It would do three things:

1.) Knock the rider off, damaging him\her.
2.) Place you ontop of the horse.
3.) Not slow down the horse.

There could be two moves, one down in slow-mo and one down in normal speed. The normal speed would be either a grab and throw or a kick that would throw the rider to the ground while the horse runs away.

In the slow-mo you would grab the guy, pull yourself up, and throw the guy off the horse, while you ride away.

Both of these moves must be done when the horse and rider is 10-15 feet away and when he is charging straight at you.

Another move would be "Horse-Jumping." Basically, if you and an enemy were charging each other as if you both had a lance you could press a button when the enemy was say, 5 feet away, and your guy would jump to the enemy's horse, knocking him off.

Imagine the splendor! Kong-fu kicking a man off his horse! Time slowing and showing your character rip a man from his horse and throw him to the ground. Jumping off of your horse and kicking a man off of his horse.

Another GTH move could be jumping onto a horse with a rider as it runs by you and then throwing both your character and the enemy to the ground...

Sadly, none of these will ever be implemented...

Heh, that would be kind of fun, for atleast 5 mins anyways. Oh, and holding down the f9 button makes the game go into slow-motin in battles (rolls of pennies are good for holding it down).

Yea, I know that. That's how I knew slow-mo was possible with the M&B engine, and with the game, and all.

Pennies? I never tried that. I used some tape. Lol.

Yeah it may be fun, but do you realise how ultra difficult it is to do this in reality? Even on a stationary rider / horse ::\

Sure other ways can be suggested, such as smashing the rider off with a big piece of wood etc. but if that is implimented, 'dodge' commands should be too, so there is a way to counter...

What would be nice however, is if horses are given the ability to 'fall' (when hit on the side by another horse, or when hit for excess pain, and they fall due to shock). You could jump on a fallen horse, stab the rider, and end up on top of that horse when it recovers underneath you ::smile:
Pulling or physical 'push/pull' would somewhat not fit into the current game (in my oppinion) and you would probalby get your hands hacked off anyways if you try to use them for such purposes...

i dunno, wouldn't that be kinda hard...specially in any kind of armor, i mean this isn't hollywood, this is a game however shooting for realism and i dunno if i'm right or not but i don't think that something like that can actually be done very effectively because a horse is fast, you are slow, and you have armor on (for the most part) even without armor you have to time it just right and have enough force to knock someone off

Another GTH move could be jumping onto a horse with a rider as it runs by you and then throwing both your character and the enemy to the ground...

Or, something a bit more realistic, maybe using certain types of weapons as hooks, to pull your enemy off of his horse, without damaging the horse.

Halberds, anyone?

Yes, I like those hooked halberds on my new(est edition of) Bretonnian infantry.

EDIT: Also, DO NOT USE TAPE AS IT TAKES OFF THE LETTERS by the way. THey are only cheap little stickers. Unless you don't care about the stickers.

Well, you can already knock a rider off his horse without hurting the horse. And i don't think its even possible to actually jump up on a galloping horse, especially with a rider already present (somebody's been watching a little too much LoTR  ). I suppose it would look cool...the first or second time you did it at least. Blah...

I don't put the tape across the key, I put it on the sides of the key.

Also, this is a half-true half-joke suggestion. No need to get so serious about it. I know it is nearly impossible to jump and do a kong-fu kick in full plate armor. Just jokin' around!

Personally I think it would be mis-placed in this game. You can already relatively easily take somebody off a horse with a bow, although other weapons for some strange reason damage the horse as well as the rider, which is another topic and another discussion, and why I have been so heatedly arguing against split hit-boxes, but if anything this would be kinda out of the current game proportion (in my oppinion)

Its easier to knock a horse onto the ground, murder the rider, and then get on that horse before it stands back up in my oppinion ::smile:

yeah but that kills him. We're talking about taking him off WITHOUT killing him, and then having him be knocked down for a few seconds while he figures out that the big ass he's on is his own.

Then we stab him with a finishing move *hint hint*
