Gothic- The Revolution

Myrtana has been overrun by orcs- King Rhobar and his loyal paladins are besieged in the capital of Vengard, and all across the land, humans are enslaved. The rebels, soldiers still loyal to the king, are haunted day and night by orc patrols, and the situation is grim. But there is hope- a hero has arrived from the distant isle of Khorinis. As the fight for the Midlands continues, the rebels of Malthorn have their own battles to fight. With the Unnamed Hero struggling to liberate Silden, a party of Orc Mercenaries are sent North to remove the "infestation" of rebels that plague the hills.

(More information on the Gothic universe here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothic_III )

This mod focuses on a small area of Myrtana (North of Silden). The large three factions are the Rebels, the Orc Mercenaries, and the Nords (Wolf Clan).

donwloading~

but why no screenies in the first post? maybe people want to see something before they donwload, e.g. me

Oh, cool.

I've been a diehard Gothic fan since I first stepped into the Khorinis mining colony, so i'll have to check this out.

I was considering creating a Gothic Mod for M&B, but settled on 867 A.D instead. Good to see someone else was thinking along the same lines.

Nice choice! Will you be expanding the mod and introducing orcs and maybe the desert dwellers?

Wow! The first mod about Gothic . I especially like part 1 and 2, but 3 is also good.

I just downloaded and played your mod. It is very buggy and kind of not very good beta. Sorry. I'll write my opinnion about it:

I launched mod and saw the new background - it is nice, but not beautiful. I created new character, then appeared on map. Why on earth there is only one visible town?! I had to travel all places in map to find locations. I entered the Halmen - why it is so small? Then, I went to one of villages - this one was good and I liked the hole with barrickades and skulls . After that, I travelled to another place - Nordmar Passage - it was still nice and I didn't found any bugs. Outpost Cave was worse - I found there putted on air houses nad barrickades. In next villages I found too mini-palisades in air and some other bugs like a disappering villagers. After playing more time on map game threw me to desktop . And I found more bugs - the parties of lords are disappering when they reach the edge of map and one time I couldn't pass throught the plains. And of course - the music is very good.

List of bugs:

- All towns (except Halmen) are hidden.
- Houses and barrickades levitating in air.
- Disappering villagers.
- Game few times threw me to desktop
- The parties of lords are disappering when they reach the edge of map.
- Unpassable plains.

Wow, the great Gothic merges with Mount & Blade. Excellent

It's the 'stealth' feature. You are told about that the first time you click on the campaign map.
I actually prefer this 'fog of war' - if you like - it would be great in native. Very realistic.

Just downloaded. Off to play some more...

NB: I miss the river pirate quest. Oh well, you can't teach an old dog new tricks

EDIT: Perhaps the river pirate quest could be replaced by a goblin quest?

It's very good but there are the bugs already mentioned so that degrades it a bit. Also you need a good scene editor (Hint hint ) I walk into the equivalent of Zendar and there is a fudging huge wall blocking off the rest of Zendar, and it just looks stupid. The floating stuff is also annoying.

Once the bugs are sorted this should be very good, I look forward to fighting for the king!

I can't post screenshots because I have to go to school...
Has anyone tried the quick battles?

@Kolba:

Thanks for the review, but could you tell me just what these bugs are? For example, I know I have
-Bad Scenes
-????
-????
BTW, I thought I'd just throw them in because custom scenes, no matter how crappy, are better than default, to me. Have you guys talked to Rey?

Ok, well, thanks for reviewing.

EDIT: Screenshots from beta

Trebuchet, copy paste, copy paste, copy paste...

Campaign map introduction

The mod is great, but it would be nice if the where new weapons, and the map was larger, but it's still a good mod.

Think I'm gonna try this one right away

Has anyone tried the quick battles?
Will do that first

EDiT: just tried quick battle 6 (sieging a castle) but didnt found something special though  :???:

Yah, I only added snow into that one, but the others have quite large changes.
@stonegolem:
If you're interested in making scenes, you can start by fixing up Zendar and giving me the file. Nevermind. I've fixed Zendar- you'll probably like it. You can work on making an awesome scene for Quick Battle 6

Thanks for all of your reviews, and I apologize if you think it's a poor beta. Then again, beta's arn't supposed to be bugless, and I believe that any release is better than none.

I will not add in Orcs until the new BRFedit comes out, because a simple retexture would not do Gothic's hulky orcs justice. The hashashin might appear later in the form of a small trading out- you never know.

Have any of you gotten crashes so far?
I'll focus on getting a release out by tonight.

I've got some more work done. I've:
Added in Zendar, with nice custom scene, along with all the other old NPCS (with some nice changes, including ramun=hashashin)
Sea raiders and bandits changed
Fixed rebel armor to make them look less like watchmen. Also fixed troop trees to make things more accurate.

I added screenshots, and a new version has been released.
It addresses a lot of errors, and fixes the scenes up quite a bit. You'll mainly find some little tweaks, and the biggest improvements will come over the next week.
As always, comment please

I downloaded it and played. It's better than first release, but I found three bugs:

- There is a hidden passage in Halmen palisade, so player can leave the town walls
- Some barrickades are still levitating in air.
- The barrel in Ferlan's camp is falling into the ground.

Thank you for the new version.

Found a bug - seen many times before:

The farmers traveling to... you. And just disappears when they reach you.

I really like how you combine snow with plants/trees with leaves etc.
In native, everything in snow looks like the Antarctic.

New Zendar (Halmen) with a ceremonial bonfire or what  :

Nethoras 说:
if you need a sword or similar feel free to pm me this looks interesting.
Now that you mention it Nethoras, there are some crazy swords in Gothic,
that would help to get the feeling of being in the Gothic universe.
Heck, even a Flame Sword - like the one in your avatar - but I guess that's impossible to make in M&B
