Going hobo/going Calandale

This sounds pretty retarded.

Being homeless isn't some joke.

I doubt you'll last a week.

It's not meant to be a joke.

We want to try, and to see, how hard it is to get food and money, and perhaps meet and talk to some real homeless people.

What he said. Why don't you all just go camping instead? Pretend you're rangers or something. Track some hobbits. Romp with elves. There's enough homeless people on the streets as it is.

If you tell them that you're actually not below the poverty line and could just go home if you wanted, they will rob you.

Look at it from the bright side:

If I get:

- Raped

- Murdered

- Robbed

- Kidnapped

Then you people get to laugh, and say: "Told you so!".

I call robbed, which one of you guys is going to rape/murder/kidnap him? We'll make it a big TW event!

Don't, that's my advice. Some can be quite nice. Others, especially if they're drunk, can get violent really quickly. I suggest if you plan on going to more out-the-back neighborhoods, that you carry some type of self defence tool.

Think of it like this;

They're homeless. Many homeless people are homeless because they are insane or addicted to drugs (and I include alcoholics in that category). If they were mentally healthy and knew how to organize their lives without relying on the charity of others, they wouldn't be homeless.

yeah, it's definetely not a thing to trifle with. once i was stranded on Crimea peninsula alone and with but a few coins in a pocket. it took me three day to get back home but it was hell of an adventure. i advice you not to do that, because being a hobo in an unfamiliar city is quite dangerous (and if you're gonna stay in your home city then it's not really hardcore). if your mind is firmly set on it, don't forget to bring these things along: asswipe, documents, flask for water, lighter, iron mug, swiss knife, spoon, pen and paper. if i had those with me then (especially asswipe) my journey home would me much easier.

It's inconspicuous, it'll make you look like treasure hunters. Perhaps something small?

Sawn-off doublebarrel shotgun?

It'll be like a zombiemovie if they attack us!

*Ragged mob attacks Max and Co.*

"Fooooood!"

"Diiiiiimes!"

"Shooooeee!"

"Eat this!"

*blam*

*Huge hole is blasted through ragged mob*

@ Weaver: Thanks for the advice. Will remember asswipes.

There's a reason why people who live a comfortable life don't just try living homeless for a laugh. Because it's ****ing ****. It's like giving yourself bloody cancer to see what it's like.

Precisely. It'd do wonders for your perspective.

Buxton, I think you're an idiot.
