Godlike shots!

I don't know how it is with the other weapons, but as a horse archer and archer proficiency of nearly 300 I am starting to get 2-3 godlike shots per battle. As godlike I mean shots which are at large distances and with no targeting - just pointing and shooting in the direction of the galloping single enemy... and boom - headshot and instant kill!

Targeting?

He means aiming.

There was, however, a thread about this. I just can't remember what it was called. 'Best shot difficulty' or something similar.

I mean I have plenty of arrows (3 large bags) and I draw my bow, but get tired to keep the mouse button pressed without enemy to shoot, so I just release the button... and the arrow hits the head of a single horse enemy.

ive scored an 8 once, but ive seen a SS with 14 ish.

I normally shoot about 95% headshots during combat tho.

If you get on a level plain against unmounted enemies, you can headshot them fairly easily by just aiming slightly above the horizon of their heads. It works best with slow moving, unhelmed enemies (forest bandits and the like). It's quite fun.

Higher skill levels do seem to increase the hitbox for archery, which might help explain the 14.4 hits that show up on occasion. I know the one time I got one was with a sniper x-bow (178 skill) against bandits scaling a massive cliff on the far side of the map. Even with shift-zoom the targets were only a few pixels tall and should have been impossible to hit, but after the ranging them with a couple of way out misses I got a perfect headshot. 7-8 difficulty shots are common in more reasonable terrain. At close ranges I've seen what shafts that miss the silhouette score hits now that should have missed. Of course, only Armagan knows for sure...

I was modding my game once, an found that the changes meant i had to start an entirely new game, annoying, so i got the cheat program thingie, and bumped all my stats to close to 1000 proficiencies
can't remeber the difficulty i got, but hey, all 24 arrows killed a guy, an they were all darkhunters...
with steel shields...
and black helms...
i just sat there like... !

I've gotten 14.4 headshot without any modding before. I believe that is the maximum possible. Many people have reported 14.4's before but nothing higher.

The shot I managed was a reflex shot on a galloping horseman while I was also galloping about 2/3 of the way across a map.

I don't deserve credits for such shots. But started to think the game "rewards" high weapons proficiency with random successfull although practically impossible shots.

My highest is 14.2

Ye olde hunting bow, regular arrows, on a sumpter horse, galloping full speed, and I fired a random arrow over a cliff.

Headshot on that unlucky river pirate.... he never saw it coming. If he did, he was too dumb to move out of the way.

Exactly what I mean. And similar kind of shots are not too rare, although not "that" hard... heat seeking arrows quite obviously

That reminds me of an experience I had when I was younger. My younger sister and I never got along, and one time we were carrying groceries home from the market. Well she decided to be a lazy ass and only carry one tiny bag, so I told her to take more, and she just ran off. There was a rather large hill with railroad tracks on it, it was uniformly high all the way and covered in rocks. My sister ran over the hill, and I was pissed off so I threw a rather large rock from the other side (I couldn't see her, I was just trying to scare her). It hit her straight in the head. It was freaking awesome.
