Sergeant
So after I downloaded the troop editor I was messing around with the number of bandits and deserters and their 'faction category'.
I changed the deserters from the deserter category to common bandits so that other lords can attack them also and changed their behavior to merchants so that they won't attack anyone.  It went pretty well with less bandits and deserters not targeting me so I could do some merching through Calradia until I saw a deserter with MY character as troop.

I am totally stunned as it has never happened to me before, so I decided to talk to it.  Instead of the normal "we are free brothers...."  I recieved something simular to talking a liege.  The character told me something about saving her village and something and I had the option to offer my vassalage to 'me' but no attack option.  Since I had edit mode on I manage to engage in combat with 'me' and found out that the caracter just stands there not doing anything, even if I attack her.  And when she gets knocked unconcious my health bar drops down the 10% due to the fact I got knocked unconcious by me.

I don't know how much sense I made but to those who understood, is there a way to fix this? I think it is kinda cool but the fact all deserters now spawn as 'me' and every time any one of those party gets defeated my HP drops to 10%.  But I don't want to take the risk of letting those party getting beat by a lord and I gets taken prisoner.  So anyone know what the problem seems to be?
What I changed was the number of bandits/deserters and deserters spawn with 5-10 farmers& peasant woman as prisoners and changed the last few items ( bride dress, shoes...)  into something else which works fine.  And I'm running on Diplo mod.

So...you edited the deserters' party templates with Morgh's Editor?
It sounds like you edited the templates to include new troops and somehow added the player troop (troop #0) to the templates, which might throw the dialogs off like that and will definitely result in the wounding you are describing.

Hmm, I don't think I touched player troop though, need to check.. but thanks.

And here is a typical mistake and the result of what happens when you throw in an extra zero in the template....

Have you been able to correct your editing error? Which editor program are you using?

(Also, do not multi-post. You can respond to more than 1 quote in a single post by using the "Insert Quote" button in the post reply screen and you can add more information by clicking the "Modify" button on a post you have made.)

Is that Warband? It looks like ye olde M&B.

If I may just hijack this thread for a moment: Talking of glitches, does everyone get this, or is it exclusive to my game?

Definitely Warband...look at the map in shot #1. Probably on Dx7, though.

Not just you. There's a bit of code that stores a troop name where it should be storing a party name. It had been pointed out to the devs.

Program: Mount & Blade - Unofficial Troop Editor 1.8
M&B Version: 1.010 & 1.011 (most functionality should be compatible with 0.903 and 0.960)
This editor should also be compatible with Mount & Blade Warband.

So far I have not encountered any deserter party with my character as troop, deserter party template is 0 which is (pt_none)  and their faction is outlaw, I don't think I've changed anything else but I'll keep checking.

I'd highly recommend moving to using Morgh's Editor as it has been updated far more recently and is definitely compatible with Warband.

So you've only editing the troops themselves, not a template or anything? Very odd. I don't think editing the faction of the troops should have much effect at all...but I guess I'd need to look more closely at the deserters code.
