Giving fiefs to companions and their starting troops...

Rafjansan is a dshar feif centurion. Ambershorn is the village for highcliff castle. So if you give the village first he is dshar.

Is there any possible way to change what troops they recruit? or are they stuck with D'shar troops in this particular save?

and by the way highcliffe castle and high pass are completely different.  You arent reading what i said and just thinking i have no concept of the games geography.  Highcliffe is a sarleon fierdsvain castle.  High Pass is a D'shar castle next to Nal Tar HIGH in that Mountain Pass.  Its attached village is Rafjansin.  They are both D'shar in culture.  However, Sir Jocelyn who I gave it too and who nothing else was producing Sarleon troops.  Sir Roland who was Given Ishkoman and It's two attached villages was producing D'shar troops on the other hand.  My kingdoms culture is Pendorian.
