only 6.9% of people have aserai as their favorite faction, that's no surprise considering their units aren't unique or particularly excel at any area, I think giving either the tribal warriors or skirmishers some throwing knifes would make the faction stand out more
in terms of balance, throwing knifes should act similar to a throwing stone with cutting damage, coming in larger stacks of 6 or 8 and having good precision while walking, their cutting damage would make them a very ineffective projectile against heavy armor, but a decent harassing tool against light units
