Gifting and improving relations

Does anyone know if you can improve your relationship with Lords via gifts? Or is there a limit that needs to be met before they improve...? dropped 20k on a lord just to check but I didn’t see any improvements.

If you are in the same faction, you can use your own influence to boost the influence of the other clan, and thus, all members of it. You get 1-2 relation per 50 influence spent, and it levels charm too. Afaik, gifting gold doesn't really do anything. (but you can gift "nothing" to raise charm!)
If you are the king of your faction, then I don't know whether the whole gifting influence works as well.
