Spoiler: Explanation of Ratings & Evidence Used

First I think it's necessary to clarify that in duel everyone has a different playstyle; there isn't really such a thing as an objectively better style, especially if the mechanical level of the players is very similar. The duel-charts are better at illustrating this than a list of raw numbers; different players are better at different things, and just because one player is better than another in one thing (such as controlling the pace of a duel) does not make them an objectively better duellist than someone who is more focused on a different skill (such as feinting).

With regard to the ratings over the years, due to the infrequency of duel tournaments and the rock-paper-scissor nature of different styles, it is difficult to base ratings solely on the end results of tournaments. Tournament positions are given extra weight, but the general established duel level of a player is also accounted for. It is also worth mentioning that the numbers for each era are taken as a measure of dominance/skill-level during that time period; a 100 in Early Nditions does not mean that person is, in terms of skill, better than a 98 in Post-Bucharest. The list is primarily based on tournament rankings because they are what is most important; there haven't been a huge number of tournaments in recent years, so a lot of it is left to my personal opinion. I haven't done an ft7 with you (Shin) in a very long time, and I remember beating you 7 - 0 / 7 - 1 many times over. People like Bloody_Death and Tobi, who I know you think you are better than, are not practising or playing the game with any regularity; you might be able to beat them in these random ft7s, but in an actual tournament match - one which they prepared and practised for - I'm pretty certain you'd lose convincingly. That's my opinion, and until you actually go against them in a tournament there's no way to know for sure.

The era figures are a measure of dominance in their respective time periods, and are not supposed to be compared in terms of skill. The Best of All Time ratings are also not about peak skill; it is not a measure of who was the "best" in terms of who was the most skilled, but a measure of who has achieved the most/was dominant for the longest period/how many people they surpassed at their peak and for how long.
