Getting troops from the tavern keeper

Im trying to get the old style recruiting to work and i have had some success but now im stuck,
I enabled the recruiting dialog but the troops that i can hire are just same troops in party, also when I build the module the following error appears;

WARNING: Usage of unassigned global variable: $tavernkeeper_party

any ideas?

It is not supposed that something that is commented will work if you just uncomment it.
But in this situation probably you should just uncomment lines
#    (store_encountered_party,reg(2)),
#    (party_get_slot,"$tavernkeeper_party",reg(2),slot_town_mercs),
I'm not sure that after you  do it all will work as you want, but warring should disappear.

ah thanks that worked, but i found out how to do it a different way.
