Getting lords to follow you?

I am helping lady isolla and so i need to get the swadian lords to join my rebels... but there is never an option for that anymore, what do i have to do to get it?

Well, them looking favorably at you definatly helps.

even raising my rapport with them doesnt seem to help.

You only get one chance to convince them to follow you. If that fails, then you'll need to take them by force.

It would be handy to have a high persuasion skill as well.
