Getting knocked out

Sorry if this has been discussed before, I searched but couldn't find anything -

I've been playing as a crossbowman/axe wielder on foot, with a group of Vaegir marksmen and some sword sisters, on about level 9 I think. With a party like that I'm fairly slow so I get attacked by Dark Knights and Khergit Raiders quite often and sometimes battles don't exactly go my way...I get knocked out, the whole group's buggered off and I have to start training a new batch of peasants up which sucks. It says in the knock-out message that you set off to find the remains of your party...is this actually possible? If I wander around enough will I be able to get my marksmen and sword sisters back, or is this just some horrible joke? ;_;

If im not mistaken that means that youre party members got taken prisoners by the party that attacked you (the ones that didnt get killed). If youre lucky youll encounter the party again and if youre even more lucky youll beat them all alone :lol:

You can track them the party that took your men,and women, prisoner.IF you have a traking skill or you have Brocha in you party.

A little off-topic, but a trick you might want to try is to get a mount to ride around on even if it's your habit to dismount during battle. That should improve your map-speed noticeably. Only takes a moment to dismount, and if you're not riding your horse for combat you should be able to do with a cheap one (e.g. saddle horse or a swaybacked courser) rather than investing in a better, faster mount.

You'll probably still get caught by the faster baddies, but you'll at least stand a chance of making it to the nearest down to hunker down at the tavern until they get bored and ride off :smile:

Yes, you can rescue them. If you can find them.

One game, I was knocked out and when I awoke I was alone: no Sword Sisters, no Hired Blades. Gone, all gone.

20 days later, I came across a Dark Knight warparty with captured Sword Sisters and Hired Blades in tow. Naturally I rescued them and there was much feasting and celebrating in Halmar that night.

I've experimented with that, riding a mount with a large foot party as opposed to just keeping it as a saddle horse makes about .1 difference to the party's speed, and if I'm carrying a lot of gear it can make no difference at all.

Putting extra horses in your inventory helps alot , And giving horses to borcha and marnid does too.

So does having unit's like Knights , or just any calvalry.
