Getting honour in Warband

I noticed that in Warband, you no longer get honour for cleansing villages of bandits but refusing reward. Which I don't approve of, that sort of thing is part of the chivalric ideal. While at it, you should get honour too for stopping raids on villages not belonging to you.

So what ways are there left? Letting captured lords go and refusing reward for wanted fugitives, but what else? That seems kind of a shallow selection. And I'm in need of honour to be able to court that one moralistic lady who manages to turn every poetry session into a polemic against base desires. Dammit woman, do you have any idea of how many Nord raiders' base desires have been compromised by my intervention?

Yes you do get honor for fighting bandits in villages, but only for the "Train Villagers" quest.

Now that you mention it, my honor is pretty low as well.

Increase relationship with honorable lords, decrease with dishonorable ones.

I think it has something to do with lords joining you as well (if you have your own faction).

It's the same idea, really. But, from what I understand, I think the higher your honor is, the more people will readily believe the option that you're starting the faction to 'protect the rights of the common person'. I've generally found that all the honorable lords support this option.

Some women will not marry you unless you have a high Honor rating, I had my relationship with the Lady at 36 and over 20 with her dad but until I got my Honor to 20 she wouldn't marry me.

Quickest way to get it higher I found was to fight lords, capture and release them.

Does the "train villagers" quest exist at all in Warband? I have never got it, and I've asked my own villages for quests no small number of times.

Well you get, but not every time.

Yes, it does, but it might be rare.
