I get this error whenever I start M&B. It stops at setting data.
Whenever I use the 'build module' thing, even if i haven't edited/changed any of the module .py files, it'll throw this error. Even on a clean version of native.
I have no idea why, any ideas?

I get the exact same error when itry to start my mod, but when i click build module, i dont get an error at all. My error occurs when it says loading setting data. Ive been trying to fix it, and i redid my whole mod, thinking i msutve corrupt something, but its still there. I have no idea what to do either.

Er, yeah, that's what I have. I was just saying that when it'll work fine if I don't use build module. I get the error at setting data.

See in the error, it says that mount&blade.exe is failing. the exe is usually the thing that actually starts the program. But for some reason, all my downlaoded mods work. But it tells me the loaction of the problem, and its not in my mod, which is what confuses me the most. Ive talked to guspav, who is an experienced modder, and he says it might have something to do with an name for an item mesh i did, but im not sure.

No, the location of the problem is definitely your mod. Something you did is causing mountandblade.exe to crash..... it's not something in the actual exe that's the problem. I'd suggest going through your code with a fine toothed comb and make sure there are no mistakes. Then make sure you have no spaces in mesh names.

Yes, I seemed to have this problem quite a lot when I was trying to learn python. I was told it was something in my syntax.

The thing is, even if i don't edit anything, I still get the error after I use build module. (and no, I don't get it at the build module screen, I get the error when I'm at the 'loading settings' or somesuch when I'm starting M&B)

Are you sure that you are using the right module system?? I.e. if you are modding 0.808 you are not using the 0.750 python files?? Try redownloading the module system and see if that helps too.

No luck. Downloaded the new module system, reinstalled M&B, and set in the 'module info' export section "C:/Program Files/Mount&Blade/Modules/Native/". Used "Build module"

Loaded up native, same error at setting data.

Try making a new mod with no modifications. Do you have both 0.808 and 0.751 installed??? If so, you might be accidentally exporting to the wrong version...?

I have 0.634 (I think) installed in another folder, and im fairly positive I'm not exporting to it.

Just reinstalled again, made a new mod, (a mod with no modifications  ) then used build module, still getting the error, however.

What version of Python are you using?? Umm.... I really can't think of much else....

My scripting has always worked, and I made a new unmodified mod just then to test it and it worked fine.

Well, the only thing I can think of is try changing some settings or something....

For example, change graphics resolution, or turn cheats on/off etc.... it's a long shot, but who knows?

Alright. It's fixed. Thanks!

It turned out I had 3 different versions of Python installed, however that came about.

Thanks again!

Going to go ahead and lock this, everything seems to be solved now.

No worries....

I had problems before on a different project with multiple python versions.....

Im getting this exact same error, but i checked, and i only have one version of python installed. Any ideas as to what happened to me?

I have the latest python, and everything is set correctly.

That error goes away if you press "Ignore" some 10 times. but it's still annoying.

i pressed ignore and the error dissapears, but my computer freezes...
