Getting a book back

So I joined up with the Rhodoks, who apparently had no interest in defending their newly acquired city of Dhirim from the Khergits (hmm, that's a lot of second-letter-h's there...). I tried to defend it alone, got trounced, and the jerks took my big book of surgery. Is there any way for me to track that down?
