first i want to make georgian font(UTF- in game, but when i edit language file in native folder and save with utf-8 format georgian fonts is not vissible .. please help

The game uses bitmap fonts (a simple texture), and only a limited set of characters are included,

Latin1

(for european languages like mine, spanish) and

Cyrillic

, but I don't know how close is georgian typography to Russian for example. Nevermind that, just saw it. It does look completely different.


Here's a good place for getting Georgian fonts in Truetype format: http://fonts.ge/en/

You need to generate your own Georgian font for the game. Luckily I've made a program called Font Customiser that serves exactly to that very same purpose. Don't thank me.


Anyways, as I'm a cool guy, and you're probably going to make me repeat me again all the manual. I'm going to do it for you.

Let me a moment while I download my own program, investigate a little about what is the range of Unicode characters you need, and get the proper font for that.

Okay, I had some complications along the way, but I manage to overcome them:

- Always try to use TTF fonts with UTF-8 (Unicode) encoding, otherwise it won't work.
- Unicode range for Georgian charset is 4256-4351, 10A0–10FF in hexadecimal notation.

I picked the first from the list, looked pretty good and includes Latin and Cyrillic so it comes in handy:

UPDATE: Nevermind, I've tried like with more than four UTF-8 fonts like this one and they aren't showing at all in the texture.

The funny thing is that in MS Word they look fine.

It's going to be an herculean task and today I'm a bit busy with an exam of eight lessons, and some hardcore homework that I haven't even started yet. So, sorry for that. Blame my teacher's stupid workload fanaticism.

Oops, my bad... I forgot to invert the RGB channels of the image, here you have it fixed, just replace the old

FONT.DDS

with the one included here.

Just don't forget to use the correct UTF-8 Georgian font you want.

Trust me. Just do it, run Font Customiser as admin and generate it again, Sometimes it fails, don't ask me why.
Alternatively you can use Gimp with the DDS plugin for tweaking the RGB channels by yourself.

That's all the magic.
