General Discussion and Suggestions

I've downloaded the "low end" edition file from Moddb, tested it myself, have enter town didn't had any problem nor seen any kind of errors, I don't get why many were having problems with that edition, however I decided to remove the download. The solution for 2.0 I'll look is to have optional scenes (the old ones, including old Jerusalem) and module.ini which will not load all those high res textures for the new towns, with those optional files the mod shall be just as demanding as 1.7 version.

Hi wanderingknight!

Your mod is very addicting!

I have an idea that could be interesting...

Make an option at the menu market that let us have access to our companion's inventory from any town...
For example, a list of our companion's inventory...  Does it's possible? I don't know, I let you analyse it!  :ohdear:...

Without to be obliged to leave the city and open party's window and open companion inventory... and transfer their items inside our inventory then return in the market of the city for selling all items... etc...

I hope my explanation is clear, thank you for all your work!

have a good day.

PS:
Have access to the companion's inventory it's a very good idea that you had have!! Congratulations!!

Am now very annoyed.

That quest was kinda of incomplete however I don't know if I'll bother improving it. But anyway you still get xp and money doing it.

You should be able to change the equipment of your lords. Made a companion Lord and now the stupid idiot decided to wear Arabian Armor. I'm the Teutonic Order............

You need to remove all the equipment they have equipped and from their inventory to guarantee they equip the Teutonic equipment they spawn with, It's stated in many places including in game in Notes\Game Concepts, you get a prompt window at start on a new game warning to read the specifics mechanics of the mod there, is not my fault if you guys don't read. You would have known when you make them lords they spawn with full Teutonic gear, but you need to remove everything first to guarantee that's what they equip.

(In case you're playing other faction you obviously remove everything and equip them with what you want they wear so that the Teutonic gear don't override it. But in your case all you had to do was remove everything they have equipped and from their inventory)

Yeah i did it for the first 3 and forgot it for the 4th.  Sadly the Last Save was to far back. Maybe it is possible to implement that option. I just kicked him out, he is a Templar now.

Anyway, you really did do a good job to point that out, like you said. So that helped a lot. I usually remove all invetory and give them the equipment i like (Teutonic) that works for me.
I guess 3 out of 4 is a good quote.

You mod is awesome, addictive and immersive by the way. So good job on that.

Edit: Would also be helpful, if another Lord joins your faction.

Worst mod ever...

Cons:
Non Realistic Combats, (Powerful Enemy vs Weak You)
Buggy Combats, (You can't jump+hit at tournament or duel etc...)
Broken Sounds (Sounds always sizzling)
Shops inventories doesn't refresh. (I bought a horse and 30 days later didn't respawn a new horse! I couldnt get new one...)
Shops got scant items! (1 type axe, 1 type bow... etc.)
Limited Quest (Really limited)

Pros:
Historical

I have version 1.0 of this awesome mod and i've just been basically lazy this summer (mostly Bass fishing) but I came back and saw this request.

I went ahead and did the research and applied a tweak that I figured out since way back in 2010.

How to level up your lords and change their equipment  Basically took what I did from all the other mods and snooped around in the Sands of faith Conversaton.txt file and figured it all out.

*** I won't post the text out of respect for "thewanderingknight" work.  But if he says it's ok, I'll post all the code in spoilers to make it easy to do.  The same way I did in my Europe1200 tweak thread.  Dude I hope you're not mad.

To show that i'm not lying   I applied the tweak, started as King Baldwin at level 1, immediately found Companion "Catherine".    I then gave her a Fief on the spot.  I then had to wait 3 days for here to show up again and TADA!!! the tweak works.  I also checked all my other lords and I can give/change equipment and also update their skills.

Here are some pics of Lady Catherine on day 3:

P.S.  I never changed any of her stuff or took off any items and she was perfectly set up with the teutonic items!

Btw I'm very sure this tweak above  would work in the latest version.  Unless the last dialog # were changed....(which most likely were not) All I would need to do is replace with newer numbers.  Otherwise its easy to implement now that I've found them. Easy fix

Everything you wrote is false so I guess you're mistaking this mod with something else. Not attacking when jumpimg is not a bug is intended because it's unrealistic. However you can enable it in module.ini learn yourself how. Either than that is a matter of opinion, the mod got tons of awards in just 1 year so I guess your opinion doesn't represent the general one.

Just a quick question, is there already a release date for v2.0?

I think some time soon, Akathir have been making new scenes, I've been getting feedback from the patch, also an artist is making new art for background pictures, etc so it doesn't really depend only of me.

An artist is making new art design for background images for the mod ^^ Regarding new scenes in the patch, I know there is an issue with the crusader town castle scene that shall be fix/reverted in 2.0, I'll also look into add the collision missing from a few scene props. (if you know about other issues please report it, thanks)

The FAQ mentions there is a way to change factions relations at the beginning of the game to make it easier for Crusaders vs Muslims. It mentions optional files in a folder "Factions Relations", but there is no such folder in the mod folder.
Where can I find the missing file?
Or is there another way to change the faction relations easily with the same result?

I think I didn't included it in the latest version, but it only changed relations for the muslim factions making them been at war with each other, this was because in earlier versions there was complains about muslims being a bit too strong overall which doesn't happen now. I already removed it from the FAQ.

I've played Sands of Faith for some time now and really love your mod. I am a vassal of Jerusalem now, got a castle and a bunch of knights in my army and have a lot of fun. But I have some questions:
1. How do you use the lance like the AI does it? They seem to be able to hold the lance in front of them constantly and then ride towards you without a stab attack. I don't know how to do it.
2. This question is also about vanilla, so bear with me: Can I usurp the crown of a faction, i.e. become king without setting up a new faction? I would like to have Jerusalem as King of Jerusalem, you know.

1. To do that just direct the lance with the mouse without pressing attack and it will then deliver couch damage on hit.
2. You can start the game as King of Jerusalem you know ^^

1. You mean left click and hold?
2. Yeah but it's more fun to earn it.
