Gender change for Marnid and Borcha?

I'm raising an army of Sword Sisters, and I like everything matchy-matchy, so I'd like a pair of heroines instead of heros. It seems like this wouldn't be too difficult, including the ability to customize their faces. I don't want to change their stats, just gender.

But I have no idea how, could someone please help a girl out?
 
I guess you could do a dirty fix by copying xerina on marnid & borcha and changing name and changing faces ingame

Edit: ok. tried doing that in troops.txt, no effect whatsoever... weird I'd say
As a side note, has anyone noticed any change when playing around troops.txt? I copied all of xerinas info, name and all over marnids and nothing changed, marnid still appears with his own stats

And/or you could give Marnid and Borcha some of those pretty dresses they sell at the smithy - it's weird but...no it's just weird.
 
A Balanced Sword of War does nothing, a bolt just knocks him out. And dresses just won't do!

Thanks for trying. Obviously I don't really know what I'm talking about, but when you customize Marnid's face, something controls the fact that you get a screen with a male face and the appropriate male face options to select from, rather than the corresponding screen with a female face. Same thing when you start a new character and select the gender.

So, anyone know how/where gender is set?

I haven't thought much about names, I suppose Marnie will do, and Borcha could actually stay as Borcha.
 
Mod I'd most like to see is a mod that breaks the battle size limit and lets you set it to whatever your machine can handle. That's probably impossible without the dev tools though.
 
Lost-Lamb, your mod works perfectly when I start a new game (quite a shock to see Marnie standing in the tavern), but is there any way to do this with a savegame, please? I'm level 26 and not ready to start over yet. I see Marnie listed in my party, but it's still really Marnid.
 
I'm sorry but I'd say thats impossible. I was hoping it would work in savegames but apparently it doesn't :???: Only way that might work altought I highly doubt it would be sending him to 4 ways, saving, restarting mount and blade, loading and getting him. And if that doesn't work I'm clueless.

And you could always enable cheats and remake your character? Thats IMHO not even really cheating
 
Hey, can you change their faces and have it save? Also I want to change their names to two names I always use for my char's Buddies.

How about making a mod that let's all Vaegir Horsemen be horse archers? Or some other way to get them.

I think you figured it out, but just in case. troops.txt is the template for "new" troops. If the troop has already been created in game, it has already used the values in troops.txt and so will not change if you change the file. In the case of unique characters, I think they are all created at the start of the game. Other units use troops.txt when they are created with their party or put in the tavern for hire. The troops for hire in the tavern have already been created.
