Gems and faith skills

I have read the 2018 guide and it helped a good amount but i am curious about two things
First one is the use of gems or crystal looking items
I really don't understand if there is a interesting use of them except the fact you needing it to become a lich king i believe
If there is a use i would be happy if somebody has an answer for that (i have a feeling that it can be used for crafting some special items)
Second one is the skills you get from increasing you're faith
Would be thankful if there is a list of all those skills that each path can give you because there is good, evil and neutral path where all of them have different paths as well which i don't hate but i can't find anything to help me know which one gives what abilities to use in battle

You WILL start as a lich now if you select necromancer as your first class (profession). The quest to become a lich was removed, although I might reconsider some months from now in a later edition.

As for alignment of clerics/paladins (as the other classes do not care about alignment excepting Necromancer, which is always evil),
roughly:
"good" is positive energy aligned, so heals are boosted, "harm" is blocked.
"neutral" can heal AND harm, but each is weakened
"evil" heals are weakened and harm is buffed. This assumes negative energy fuels the cleric prayers. This is also why Necromancers heal less
(excepting I gave them a 1 point/second regen in a moment of pity). A battle with a large number of clerics or paladins everyone is likely to be within the range of friendly heals, but the strength of the heal is calculated on the casters' alignment and whether the target receiver is undead.

The prayer selection is based on faith skill mainly, with some choices removed if alignment is notcompatible.
All of the spells and prayers are listed on one of the worksheets in player_handbook folder as excel file "Programmers_guide".
It also has a list of crafting items that can be made and their required skill by crafting category.

Not yet, but having the source ought to help someone expand that. I just want people that make significant expansions to run them by me for approval so I can give feedback. There is plenty that could be changed. For that matter the core system would be useful for other settings, such as for example a Dune mod, off the top of my head.
