As historically advised by Ichimonji, this submod allows for nobori bearers to carry the big banners (resized to be thinner and a bit shorter) on their back and cannot be used as a weapon. They will be using swords (katana) instead and due to the long stick on their back, they get a -1 to their athletics and also since they no longer use polearm as a weapon, their one-hand weapon skill will match their polearm skill. Essentially they will be the best 1-handed ashigaru troop you can get.

v1 - Based on Sugoroku 3.1.12 for Gekokujo 3.1 beta

The change for nobori bearers using swords and carrying big banners is savegame compatible but their 1-handed skill will not be updated.

Be warned: any other mods that touches troops.txt or item_kinds1.txt may bugged these changes.

1. Extract and copy all files into directory - Modules/sugoroku
2. Overwrite when prompted
3. Enjoy

Since this thing only modifies two text files it should not be too difficult to just take those changes and paste them into the regular game as well making this compatible with the base game. All we'd need to know is exactly which lines you changed. And that's trivial to do. I would do it my self (already on it for personal consumption) but obviously this is something that only you could release.

The important thing is that  the equipment is present in game, or atleast the models are now available in a seperate .brf. While that's a given , you can edit the mod yourself to put them wherever you like (only for personal use, though). I myself play personalised variants of Sugoroku, although my present one is much out of date (based off Suguroku 3.0.9), and removing the scenery-destroying Shogun 2 Nobori was for long a priority of mine. :v

Also, how do these Nobori compare to oversized sashimono worn by combatant troops? The Sashimono are told to be about thrice as tall as a normal one, so going by scale, i'd say that the Nobori are a bit taller still.

Here added big flags in game/found :mrgreen: lots of things from all the samurai mods on Warband. Remesh of food, horses, books, firearms, some useful fixes and improvements. No calradian items left. Submod is historical - no fantasy or anachronistic items.
Install into clean(not modded, just Gekokujo 3.0 ) module directory(C:\Program Files (x86)\Mount&Blade - Warband\Modules\Gekokujo) rewriting files if needed.
Pay attention
- there are a lot of mods mixed in this one. This submod is the great work of many people(meshes from russian-chinese Bunroku and chinese 人间五十年加强版, animation from jacobhinds and Papa Lazarou, sound from Pilorama and so on). Here on forum are a lot of people who helped the submod by ideas, suggestions, translating or testing. So better call it "Forum submod". And phlpp has a lot of standarts - that's why many things we want to see can't be added without ruining the harmony of Gekokujo mod. Thx. About features of every version read downpage - in =History=.
And for those who try to read my scribble - please forgive me for my horrible english)

Lets wait the full update for Gekokujo 3.1 together!!! All i can say - i still love Gekokujo very much. And i suspect, i'll love it forever)) It's big job you know, and we must appreciate it. For example, i've never been in modding. But this great mod made me begin))) Yes, we can do very little for this mod, but we must support phlpp as we only can.

Ichimonji Hidetora's patch <- download link
This submod requires the Suguroku v2.9.6 submod for Gekokujo.
You should make a backup of the original files first.
Just drop the "Suguroku" folder in the "Modules" folder, overwrite the existing files.
This mod adds 2 new historically correct guns to the game, a bajozutsu (riding gun, it's not a pistol but
a .50 carbinefor mounted use), and a hazamazutsu (wall gun, it's a large calliber sniper with a long barrel).

The Date and Tokugawa factions now have mounted hatamoto troops that are equipped with bajozutsu so they can
shoot while riding).
Some small changes to their equipment and stats have been made.

The namban-teppo (a European arquebus) is historically incorrect and so I have replaced it with the hazamazutsu.
All troops that were previously equipped with the namban-teppo should now be equipped with hazamazutsu instead.

Guns no longer have 100% accuracy, they vary from 94 to 99.

Besides these obvious changes I also made some small changes to the omi-yari, they can now be swung on foot
(they are hewing lances after all), they also crush through blocks because these things have thick heavy blades.
The other Date hatamoto troops are now equipped with omi-yari.
The rest remains unchanged.

Here the polearm animations from  Combat Animation Enhancement  are added - they seem to be better than 'vanilla' are, and also added little mesh fix for shortest naginatas.
! suguroku.brf file from archive is not compatible with Ichimonji Hidetora's patch
Installation: just drop in the "Gekokujo" folder, overwrite the existing files(2.9.6 Suguroku ver. needed). Don't forget to make a reserve copy.
here you can find the old animation(+ meshes of naginata) if you didn't like the new one - the reserve copy you've not done
and here you can find suguroku.brf compatible with Ichimonji Hidetora's patch
P.S. Animation is perfect when using nagamaki but little worse with naginata - but blocking animation is beautiful everywhere. After this mod i fell in love with nagamaki - so i think nagamaki-lovers will like it.(this text is written by me, Hasegawa not Lazarou)

Hello everybody. I'm from Russia and I think there are many people from my country, who want to play this absolutely amazing mod with russian language. I can play English version, but I so like this mod, that when I saw how many people ban this Module only because of lack of russian language, I started to translate the text on the 1st January, after New Year celebration :smile: Most of the text I transladed by hand, but I'll be fair with you and say, that some big dialog phrases i took from Prophecy of Pandora, because they are the same.  So, here it is, I hope you enjoy!

Так что прямо с 1 января я начал перевод :smile: Большую часть я перевёл вручную, но некоторые диалоговые фразы ввиду их идентичности я позаимствовал из Пророчества Пандоры. ...and you haven't tell me on what reasoning did you chose to have the weapon modifiers (Mino, Masamune, etc) different from Gekokujo?
 
I want to talk about bakumatsu mod, What's wrong with the imperial troops, It's unable to see imperial_meiji and all the uniform of imperial troops disappear

sorry, it must be bug. I'll try to fix it soon.
 
yo, started to play more sugoroku, almost own half of japan by now, and i wondered about some of the armours that few lords are wearing are not available in the shops, is that ment to be like that like Great lord takeda has that red coat and diffrent helmet? (btw is it possible to retreive items by a code? lost my Daikyu when i got high and cant remember where i put it  :facepalm: probably sold it)
 
I also noticed that Date armors look very funky on the menus and when talking to the troops, although they are alright in-game. Might be a Direct X7 issue though, gotta check it.

Yes, there are some unic armors, only for lords in game. Don't know if it is possible, about code. Never tried to.

Would be neat to have the emperor in the game, at least as an interactive NPC or a claimant.

I also would really enjoy having a ninja village (most likely the Iga Ikko, but you can make stuff up too) where you can recruit combat ninja (maybe no infiltration skills, just very good stats, athletics and light armor, a guerrilla troop) and maybe a nanban trade port somewhere.
 
Maybe a haunted inn with characters with oni face masks.  Might even be their real faces, and claiming that they're permanently wearing them as a festive thing.  And troops suddenly disappear.

Yeah, that actually sounds okay. The mod is great, without a doubt. Specially with those gameplay additions incoming. But it could use that little bit more of exploration and flavor in my opinion. A bit like Brytenwalda, you know. Dungeons to explore, named NPCs to interact with, secret items, maybe even a quest. I don't consider it a masterwork mod or anything (npc levels too damn high) but I think on those aspects it could be mimicked.
