Garrison Wages Broken?

So recently in the game I got a castle and noticed placing troops into just 1 castle cost a minimum of 5K gold coins. I can place a recruit and the cost of the wages goes to 5002 gold coins a day. So it seems to be taking 5K and then adding any troops costs on top of that amount. Then how am I supposed to afford anything past a few towns unless I am making ridiculous amounts of coins a turn. I think there must be a adding error somewhere. I have already tested if the price changes over time and it stays the same and has bankrupted me really quick.
